This movie left me with very mixed impressions. On one hand, the first half was pretty much your average Ben Stiller comedy, as in mediocre and annoyingly uneven. But on the other hand, the second half (as well as the film's hilarious intro) was so fun and action-packed, that it completely compensated for all the previous misses. Granted that the jokes ranged from everything between hilarious to downright lame, but overall, I still found myself laughing out loud more often than I thought I would, and so did my buddy that I saw it with.

Another thing I loved was the wonderful cast, because Stiller surely rounded up a lot of A-list names for this one, all of whom got their fair share of screen time to shine. And thank god for that, because for a while there I feared he would go greedy and take up most of the space, which wasn't the case at all here. At any rate, when it comes down to it, this ended up being my favourite comedy of the year so far, despite its mediocre first half.

Oh, and one last thing...see if you can spot Tom Cruise, because he does a role here that is pretty much as far away as you can get from his usual repertoire. So far in fact, that he's now earned back my respect for him as an actor. You'll know what I mean when you see it ;-)

    WALL-E WALL-E

Pixar never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think the quality level of their animation couldn't possibly get any better, they go above and beyond and raise the bar once again. Most of the scenes here were simply visually breath-taking, and even artful in some ways. In fact, it was so well-done at times that I could almost swear I was watching the real thing. The story itself was also highly entertaining, and the character of Wall-E is certainly one of the best and most memorable that Pixar has ever come up with. This is bound to become a beloved classic, that people will still watch and enjoy 20 years from now. So without further adue, it's my pleasure to entitle this as the best animated movie of the year!

By the look of the unimpressive trailer, I feared I was in for a disappointment when seeing this. I mean, with as much as nine seasons and the previous movie on his credit, I seriously doubted that this was anything more than a way for Chris Carter to milk his creation for more money. To my great relief, however, that wasn't really the case here.

The story, altough scarcely spectacular, was actually quite intriguing, with some great chemistry between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to keep it in good balance. All in all, it may not be up to par with the greatness of the series, but it's still a solid and exciting mystery thriller, with enough scares and action to keep you sufficiently entertained. In other words, worth a watch.

Very over the top action-wise, but done in such a cool and visually pleasing way, that it's pretty much impossible not to get soaked up by its great sense of fun. So if you like movies like "Crank" and "Shoot Em Up", then you're gonna love this one. Because it goes without saying that this is one of the best action movies of the year!
