Duma
by Ovithis is an incredible movie, very realistic, it sure has got to be hard to work with a real live cheetah, but the results are amazing. I was surprised by Duma, because it's an extremely well-directed film which treats its audience with far more respect and intelligence than a lot of so-called "family" fare available. Also, as opposed to many films with animal protagonists, Duma doesn't treat them as objects of half-witted hokey slapstick fun, but instead makes the entire friendship between human and animal seem extremely touching and authentic and intense in the same time.

Cloverfield
by .:SexiVixxENOK,
I have finally joined the Cloverfield club lol.I am being generous,(VERY) with giving it the 4.Don't get me wrong it's watchable,The shaky camera didn't bug me as much as I thought it was going to.The cast for being a group of "unknownes" did very well. There were also some pretty good intense scenes. But if you are expecting to see alot of monster action Sorry not this time. It's such a dam tease. But I am not going to say anymore...I don't think I have said anything more than has already been reviwed,So I hope I have not ruined anything for anyone. My best advice see this one for yourself, and YOU be the judge.Oh and if you are gonna pay $$$$ to see this at the theaters,be ready for a quick ride ok?Whole movie Start to finish is 85 minutes.Just something to think about.=)posted 704 days ago -

Disturbia
by MaicoI received a lot of mixed reviews about this film. Some were really good, others were saying it wasn't worth watching at all. I chose to ignore the latter and watch it anyway. And i'm glad I did. I thought it was brilliant. An exciting thriller that not only keeps you guess but teases you by confirming your suspicions then giving you lots of reasons to doubt yourself. Then telling you what you thought in the beginning was actually right. The acting was brilliant from all. Shia LaBeouf once again gives me lots of reasons to think he is going to be huge and become very well known in the next few years. Aaron Yoo was completely unknown to me but I loved his performance. His character was fun to watch and he brightened up the scenes he was in. David Morse made a brilliant mass murderer. He was just the right kind of creepy and gave you loads of reasons to doubt him but at the same time you were still thinking maybe he is just a normal guy who is a bit weird. A must see film in my opinion that is very underrated.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2)
by RoryIt's like The OC with Aliens! But nowhere near as good as it sounds, and with clunkier dialogue and more wooden acting!!
The films only saving graces are a couple of neat action set-pieces... but even they are to dark! What happened to these once great franchises??!!
...does anyone know what the end was all about?posted 705 days ago -

Untraceable
by BrianHow is it that no one on my list has seen this movie yet?
Maybe it's because I haven;t seen a movie in quite a while, but I thought it was pretty good.
Believable performances and not at all slow. A tiny bit like Saw, but like Saw with a plot that doesn't totally blow.
Plus, even haggard, single-mom FBI agent Diane Lane is hot. And the ending is satisfying.posted 706 days ago -

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
by RoryYou know when Johnny Depp and Tim Burton team up your in for something special! This doesn't disappoint! Johnny is fantastic and demonstrates a great singing voice and the whole look of the movie, although very dark is superb!
Wasn't a fan of all the songs, would have liked a little more dialogue and the amount of gore was a little unnecessary. Aside from that this is a great, hugely entertaining watch!
...also Sacha Baron Cohen and Timothy Spall are ace in there disappointingly small roles!posted 708 days ago -

Hitman
by OviHOLY SHIT!!! was not expecting this one. Incrediblly well done. My opinion is that Tymothy Olyphant is the one for the skin of Agent 47. I'm a fan of the character 47 and the game series and i have to say after playing th games im impressed with this film. The same moves, discipline, blending in tactics, silent, deadly a true ghost the perfect HITMAN is on screen for ur hearts. It has a few parts where it looks that he does have a heart, personally i like that since i think it brings a certain realism to his character, the deadlier of perfect assassins can...feel, but no matter what he sticks to his rules and teachings, teachings of being an assassin, the best.
A great action thriller film inspired by the Hitman game series from Eidos, with the perfect actor for this part. I wished i could give a higher rating since it's pretty difficult to bring a game character to life, apparently Timothy succeeded with the help of Xavier Gens.posted 708 days ago -

No Country for Old Men
by .:SexiVixxENHmmmmm,
Well,Ok I was alllll ready for this hyped up,Cinematical Masterpiece that was going to have me glued to the screen from minute one to minute end? I need to know which film that is cause it surely isn't this one.I am a little pissy that this won so many awards. Before you all get on the hate bandwagon,It WAS good.I just didn't think it was GREAT.Yes,good story,Yes reat cast, all that,no mind blowing special effects,no unbelieveable screw with your mind twist arounds, just a story. It got slow at times,Again,I am sorry for all of those that think this is like the best film since God was a boy,But I seriously disagree. Now that I am almost caught up with seeing all the Oscar contenders,Yeah I just kinda don't get how this ranked so high.I think Atonement was AMAZING!I think Gone Baby Gone was right up there with Atonement.Ok,I feel like I am rambling,Nitty Gritty:Yes its good,Yes you should see it,I just think this was too hyped for me before I saw it,and when a movie is nominated for so much,I am expecting to be either Laughing,Crying, having a heart attack from intense scenes,or jumping outta my chair for an underdog,I just still don't get it.=(posted 708 days ago -

The Mighty Boosh Live
by MaicoI love the Mighty Boosh. I love the series and this Live show. Both are utterly amazing. Noel Fielding is so funny. And together with Julian Barrett they make a great pair. The characters are just brilliant. I love The Moon. It is very simple comedy and a tad stupid but it is just so effective. It has a lot to do with Fielding and Barrett. They work really well together and the comic timing is always very good. It's worth seeing at least one episode of the tv show and if you like that then you'll love this.

Shottas
by Ovithis is one incredible film and very intense, a film that intrigues you, a film that could easily ring the truth on some areas of Jamaica a country where being the top playa or gangster is the main deal. A film with that dialect of theirs that's very dope and interesting, with the culture but mainly typical gangster bullshit, respect, money, hookers, bla bla bla. If u've liked City of God (Cidade de Deus) u're gonna love this one!!!

Candy
by .:SexiVixxENThis movie was pretty good.ATTN:Spoliers Ahead for those that haven't seen stop reading here.=) OK,Anyway Kind of reminded me a little of Rush from a long time ago,but didn't have the same intensity for me.I wanted to see this because I am going through Heath withdrawel and wanting to see everything I never got to see him in.The part with the baby was excruciatingly sad.The one thing that got me is I don't think this character was to far off from Heath (not the drug part) the person him,He was very deep ,he loved Candy very deeply he had intense emotions and was not afraid to show his passion, and from everything I have heard that is really who he was anyway.I loved everything about this movie except the end,Thats where I got really mad,I was flowing along enjoying this but yet missing Heath then boom, you are just dropped on your ass with one of those no ending movies,Grrrr.Anyway If you are wanting to catch up with Heath definitely watch it,If you have already seen this you know what I mean already.Ned Kelly is next on my list then Lords of Dogtown.Missin you Heath...

Vincent
by MaicoThere are so many different things about this film that I love. The first of which would have to be that right from the beginning it is made clear that this is a type of auto-biography from Tim Burton. You can even relate him to the character. Burton imagining himself as the wonderful Vincent Price. That is the second brilliant thing about this short Tim Burton film. The little fact that it is narrated by Vincent Price. I believe i'm probably not the only one who has a thing for his voice. I'm not quite sure exactly what it is but it just seems to draw you in no matter what he is talking about. Therefore it works so well with this. It's a must see short film.

Tombstone
by MaicoI'm not usually into Westerns but for some reason I really enjoyed this one. I only watched it because there was nothing else on the tv and it has Val Kilmer in it. I've developed a sudden liken for his films and this one was no different. The plot was good although I am pretty ignorant when it came to knowing who the characters were. I had heard of there names but my knowledge of them went no further than that. The performances were all really excellent. I had a hard time deciding who gave the best performance between Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer. I've finally decided I liked Val Kilmer more simply because of the stunning scene at the end where he's in bed dying with Wyatt beside him. Excellent acting overall and some scenes that I would regret if I had never seen them.

Gone Baby Gone
by .:SexiVixxENMy first movie of 2008 I am completly GA-GA over.Ben Afffleck shines as a Director. This movie is highly intense and the who did it when ,where ,what all the way to the end,I thought I had it all figured out but was really off.Brilliant performances by Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman,Casey Affleck as wel although I have not seen him in too many movies so don't have much to go off of.But for the subject matter of the movie he did an amazing job. This is REALLY a must see,Next on the list guys,It leaves you asking at the end what would you have done?DAM it was good!!=)

I Am Legend
by MaicoNot quite as good as The Last Man On Earth but I suppose it was alright. There were aspects that were better and those that were not quite as good. Such as the Vampires were a lot better. They were more scarier and seemed more intelligent than in the other movie. The others seemed more like zombies because they were so stupid. In this one they weren't like that. Will Smith however could never match up to the horror brilliance that is Vincent Price. Even if he tried. The other performances were pretty bad and the best probably came from the dog to be honest. This film is definatly worth one viewing even if it is just to compare it to the original. I also plan on reading the book to see which of the films stayed most faithful to it.
