Burn After Reading (2008,  R)
2
The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
I'll just cut to the chase on this one; THE DARK KNIGHT is the best superhero film ever made, and Christopher Nolan's masterpiece. It deserves multiple-Oscar consideration, especially for Heath Jedger's already legendary performance.
3
Chungking Express (1996,  PG-13)
4
The Bank Job (2008,  R)
The Bank Job
"The Bank Job" is the best heist film in recent memory, and is a ton of fun... the most I've had with a movie in some time actually.

Director Donaldson handles this "based of facts" material masterfully, and delivers the genre's standard double, and triple crosses with suprising coherency (unllike Steven Soderbergh's "Oceans" franchise). Jason Statham is also very strong here, giving, arguably, the best performance of his career.

A huge surprise!
5
Missing (1982,  PG)
6
Wanted (2008,  R)
Wanted
WANTED is a slick, well acted, and very well made action picture that is almost always entertaining... but it's over-the-top nature (to the point of INSANITY) makes the film lack the heart and soul that many scene try to incorporate. So on a human level, the film just doesn't work.

But the blood-soaked action sequence are the reason most will be at the multiplex in line to see the film anyway, and although they do get repetitive and exhaustive after a while, they are a ton of fun to behold. James McAvoy also makes for a very unique (and suprisingly likeable) action hero.

Mix things up with some very funny dialogue, and WANTED is a film I can easily recommend. But what I'm saying is this; as far as Orgasmic-action romps go... I liked SHOOT 'EM UP more.
