| Up in the Air - R | Though time will telll wheather or not UP IN THE AIR becomes a "timeless" classic, it is easily one of the year's (and decade's) crowning achievements aswell as the film that truely cements Jason Reitman as a first-class filmmaker. "UP" gets off to an amazing start with probably the best 40 minutes Pixar has ever concieved, but as soon as the film reached South America, I felt it just didn't work as well as the first half or so promised. It just became too conventional and fell just shy of greatness which was very disappointing.
"UP" is still a great addition to the Pixar canon; it's just unfortunate that it didn't end up being a masterpiece like TOY STORY, WALL-E and RATATOUILLE. |

Easily Holds up with the best sci-fi films of the last 20 years. This is an extraordinary first effort from Neill Blomkamp and I can't wait to see what he delivers next.
