Once Upon a Time in the West 5.0 Stars
The most beautiful film I know of. Everything is perfect, from the characters and actors, to the story, cinematography and score. Perhaps my very favorite film.

The one that started it all. There's two ways to watch this film. One is as a campy suit-mation like the others Kaiju. But the other better way, is as a testament to the state of Japan after being nuked back to the stone age. A well acted movie, full of darkness and despair, and a seriously strong anti-nuke statement.

The Wages of Fear (1953,  Unrated)

It's funny how this movie change once the truck engine starts. It's the middle of the night, and a very oppressive atmosphere is, as slowly as the trucks, closing in on the viewer.
And it's funny how Clouzot can use such a long build-up to make sure none of the characters are particularly likeable, and still have you sitting on the edge of the seat when they risk their lifes so recklessly.
Clouzot is a cinematic mastermind, and the only reason he is always compared to Hitchcock and not the other way around, is probably because Clouzot only made 4 films. and Hitchcock made an impossibillion

Dust Devil 4.0 Stars
A dark, sensual and almost trippy ride. More of a grotesque drama than an actual horror movie. Draws you in and really confers the emotions of the characters, and almost convinced me that the dust devil was really doing them a favor...

Can I call this "Psycho Noir"? Or is it just trash...
A film in black and white that has gotten a lot of inspiration from film noirs, but taken the murder and intrigue over the top. A pure aesthetic movie. It was beautiful, interesting and it made me sick to the stomach.
