Another mass appeal outing from Hollywood with a lot of trite effects and overdone CGI. Pretty patchy storytelling but it's not incoherent. Watchable but cliche. Not even really brainless entertainment because mashing up old plotlines is not very entertaining. It's like watching a movie for the sake of watching a movie. But at least it ain't sleep inducing. I could sit through the whole show without feeling irritated or angry or too bored but that's the problem - mostly I just sat there feeling nothing much.

An unconventional movie in the sense that it is not meant to entertain but perhaps to get viewers thinking. If one can appreciate the depth of the character of Whitacre, this would be an interesting character study. Else watching the dynamics of the characters and how the lies play out make this a compelling show but not exactly a gripping one. Tends to get boring in some parts. But in staying true to its subject matter it's a good telling of a potentially dry case. Mostly though, only people fascinated by the subject matter and people who can identify with Whitacre would enjoy the movie I suppose.

This movie talks of a future that is really quite scary. Genes. Is it all that matters? Ethan Hawks is fantastic in this role. And he looks damn good while doing it too. Hmm. I didn't really understand the end though. What made Jerome do it?
