It was a lot of fun both to figure out who the villain was and watch Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn interacting.

Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn's connection a hell of roller coaster ride. It's tremendously fun and exciting. Stanley Donen just takes us into a ten-folds laugh, suspense and mystery.

Some have said that Charade is the closest a movie has gotten to being a Hitchcock without actually being a Hitchcock. Brilliant comic timing, romance as well as being a wonderful thriller, Charade is a wonderful movie, with a great supporting cast and a wonderful pairing of lead actors, it is also a modern day classic.

[Gideon is looking at Charles' body in the coffin and begins to sneeze violently]
.
Sylvie Gaudel: He must've known Charles pretty well.
Reggie Lampert: How can you tell?
Sylvie Gaudel: He's allergic to him.
First of all I need to confess and I m so ashamed to say this was my very first time to watch Charade but I M glad I watched it wif my SWEETHEART.
Its so fun to watch Classic Movies like these with my Husband. There is this Scene in Church, funniest Scene ever. Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant my Absolute Fav Duo. My Husband bursted into laughter there is this very fist Scene where Cary Grant runs up the stairs cuz Regina(Audrey Hepburn) screamed for help. I wouldnt have never noticed but my Husband pointed it to me, how Cary Grant ran. My Husband calls it "Gay Run" Gaawd. lol
AWESOME Classic. -

"Well, what did you expect me to say? That a pretty girl with an outrageous manner means more to an old pro like me than a quarter of a million dollars?"
Romance and suspense in Paris, as a woman is pursued by several men who want a fortune her murdered husband had stolen. Who can she trust?REVIEW
Slick, sophisticated and extremely charming are the most widely used adjectives to describe Stanley Donen's Charade; and this career highlight is still a great testament to his talent, particularly in view of the Jonathan Demme remake 40 years later. Getting the right doses of romance, comedy and thrills into one picture is difficult enough, but the mixture here is nothing short of miraculous. The funeral scene is witty beyond words. Stylish flourishes abound, making even the individual elements of the film outstanding: the animated Maurice Binder titles driven by Mancini's exceptional theme music; the Paris locations and production design; Peter Stone's slyly written banter; a cast of extraordinary character players; and even Ms. Hepburn's hip Givenchy wardrobe. Donen, Grant and Hepburn really deliver and Charade, as light and satisfying as it all is, is something of a minor cinema masterpiece. -

An outstanding classic, stars Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn are in fine form and make a wonderful team. They have a genuine chemistry together. The movie is a joy from start to finish. The plot is fascinating with enough twists to keep you very interested. Expertly combines thrills, with humor, romance and comedy. Superb direction.

Fun ride with several twists throughout. This is full of surprises, entertainment and originality. "The best Hichcock film Hitchcock never did"? It may contain a lot of influence, but it has stood the test of time.

Oldie but definitely a goody.Comedy, drama, suspense, thriller, and a love story rolled into one. Well known actors and a great plot keeps you guessing. Worth watching more than once.

An amazing thriller with a touch of Hepburn. Well worth the watch.
Reggie Lampert: Do you know what's wrong with you?
Peter Joshua: No, what?
Reggie Lampert: Nothing!
Reggie Lampert: Why do people have to tell lies?
Peter Joshua: Usually it's because they want something. They are afraid the truth won't get it for them. -

Peter: Do we know eachother?
Regina: Why, you think we're going to?
Peter: I don't know, how would I know?
Regina: Because I already know an awful lot of people, until one of them dies I couldn't possibly meet anyone else.
Peter: Hm. Well, if anyone goes on the critical list, let me know.
Regina: Hm, quitter.
Peter: Uh.
Regina: You give up awfully easy, don't you?
I do love the way they meet. Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant have beautiful chemistry. Maybe the best chemistry I've seen in her movies. What I didn't get was how Hepburn didn't know a thing about her deceased husband. It's something out of a medieval story where the bride is thrown into marriage without the knowing of her spouse. She even has her way with humor at his funeral.
"If Charles had died in bed, we wouldn't even have him."
I do like that touch with the mirror under Charles nose in the casket to see if he was still breathing. Maybe one of the standout moments in the movie for me. -

With comic fast moving dialogue and great performances from Hepburn (wearing some fantastic clothes), Grant and Mattau this film was almost perfect. I loved the storyline, and all the little twists and turns. The only problem was I guessed the main twists (who the baddy was and Grant's actual identity) before it happened, which was less to do with the film itself and more to do with my over active brain.

A charming movie with a wonderful premise and lovely atmosphere ruined by atrocious acting. I loved it as a kid, but rewatching it recently, I was struck by just how unbearably hammy it is--which would be fine in a more madcap movie but which is really rather unforgivable in this tense and surprisingly dark thriller. (Surprisingly dark for an Audrey Hepburn movie, that is...)

love the intro. its so 60's. but overall you would expect more from a team up like carygrant & audreyhepburn. but still a pretty good plot.

This is a pretty good one. I'm not a fan of the beginning graphic shots and they actually kept me from seeing this film for years. Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn get entangled in a suspenseful tale that (spoiler) took stamp collecting to a new level.

while I thought the love story was a bit too contrived, the blackly comedic suspense thriller was awesome. Donen's direction brings a subtler variation of his Gene Kelly-era wit and charm to a near-Hitchcockian mystery of murder and intrigue. Audrey Hepburn is outstanding as always, and Cary Grant, even to the final years of his career, never loses a beat. great supporting cast as well. a superbly-made film for its own time as well as ours.
