I think this is Carrey's best (although I havent seen his newer ones). A lot of original hilarious scenes. Not the same old thing. Somehow sofisticated in its conception at times, but it threatens to slow down along racist lines occasionally, or gratuitous violence. Maybe not for everyone, but I think it should be a studied by all comedy writers.

First time I saw this in the theater. I was dying of laughter in the first part of the movie. The second part was a different movie. But after seeing it about 5 times after that. I have come to appreciate a deep comical movie, that is up there with "Ace Ventura". Renee Zellweger is a doll.

I was still laughing for half an hour after the movie was finished.
It made me laugh so hard until it actually hurt!!!

The Farrelly brothers deliver again with a great comedy. This is my favorite Jim Carrey comedy. And for hockey fans the great Bruin Cam Neely has a cameo in this.
-
October 2, 2008
Really not the Farrelly brothers' best, nor Jim Carrey's. Not that funny because it's just too over-the-top.
-
September 16, 2008
Some hilarious parts, some weird parts, some disgusting parts. Best parts are his three boys and the nursing mom. While it definitely has it's moments, but not one of Jim Carrey's best.
-

The farelly brothers have shown excellent directorial skills and Jim Carrey and Chris Cooper are Fabulous !!
-
August 8, 2008
Not my favorite Jim Carrey film, but it was pretty funny. It's kinda funny that he has three black sons. The way that was incorporated ended up being good situational irony.
-
August 8, 2008
Carrey's at his best and the Farrellys let him go to work. Hank is especially funny and the self-fight scenes are classic. The attempt at having any kind of plot just slows it down and takes away Carrey's screen time.
-
August 3, 2008
I'm usually not a fan of Jim Carrey's movies in his typical Jim Carrey roles, but I did like this one a lot. The scene with the cow is just hilarious, and there's quite a few other funny scenes in it.
-
July 12, 2008
This is when Jim Carrey's career was circling the drain. and for some reason Renee Zellweger's was rising? Who in the hell is Renee Zellweger?
-
July 12, 2008

it wasnt that good and it was really gross in some parts and the irene girl looks very young compareed to charlie
-
July 1, 2008
Funny, but one could easily have left Renee Zelwegger out of it.
Jim Carrey makes it worth a go, and he really gives you and exceeds what you payed for!
-
June 24, 2008
I sincerely love Jim Carrey, but I think that his humor can sometimes be hit and miss, even in comedies, especially since he has a tendency of overwhelming his costars with his over the top comedic acting.
-
June 23, 2008
Me, Myself & Irene was really funny at some parts and really stupid at others, I found it to be well done, but it could've had a better storyline.
-
June 16, 2008
This movie was definitely not for me. There was probably one funny moment... and I can't remember what it was.
-
June 7, 2008
I really liked how he had three black kids & the scene where it was Charlie & Hank back & forth near the end.
-

I wasn't interested in this at all until my husband convinced me to watch it after a few beers. It's ridiculous to where you can't help but laugh at it (the movie's intent) and very memorable characters (Casper).

I have a really special memory that goes with this hillarious Jim Carrey movie from the bros Farrelly...
-
April 18, 2008
jim carrey and renee zellweger were real close friends in that period of time and it has been transferred to the film by them.so it is lovely watching it.
besides jim carrey`s sons are real funny.they worth watching.my favorite scene is where jim`s first wife leaves him for another MAN??

Not one of my favorite Jim Carrey Films of all time, but still a decent film. The thing about "Me, Myself, & Irene" is that there's moments that you will like the film while other moments were you'll completely hate it. The acting is not at blame for this film's poor outcome. I'd rather point the blame over at the writers for their sometimes prejudice, sometimes steriotypical, nonsense that was somehow turned into a movie.

Irene P. Waters: Does your ass feel swollen.
Charlie Baileygates: [referring to his pills] No. But it can give you unbelievable cotton-mouth.
Irene P. Waters: I meant from the ride.
Charlie Baileygates: Oh. Oh, yeah. Over the years my ass has taken a pounding.
Jim Carrey and the Farrelly Brothers team up again for another crude, vulgar, and sweet natured comedy.
Carrey is Charlie Baileygates, a Rhode Island cop who was unfortunately left by his wife, due to cheating on another man. She left him with their three black children, but Charlie just took it inside.
Years later, his children have grown up and become extremely smart due to their genes, but also very crude, due to watching vulgar standup comedies for years as well.
Charlie meanwhile has become a big pushover, until one day he snaps, developing a split personality known as Hank.
Meanwhile, a woman, Renee Zellweger, has been brought into custody on some charges, only to be wanted for more than what she's been brought in for.
Eventually, she and Charlie team up trying to find a way out of trouble, problem is the pills Charlie had to keep Hank away are gone, so he continues to switch back and forth.
When Carrey goes between Charlie and Hank, it shows how much great talent that he has. Especially in the later act of the film, when he is going all wild, back and forth. It's the kind of thing that shows why comedies can require more effort than dramas at times.
Does this mean it's a great movie? No, the plot is fairly thin, but this is just a vehicle for Carrey to be funny, and he succeeds.
His sons are also hilarious in every scene they are in.
The movie also continues the sweetness seen in all the Farrelly Brothers' movies. There's are some random throwaway lines Charlie has with his kids that are funny, but you can just tell he means it as his character.
There is also a nice alternative soundtrack to pull this all together.
Hank Evans: Vagiclean," huh? What's the matter, honey? Little extra cheese on the taco?
Mrs. Bittman: Excuse me?
Hank Evans: No, excuse me. There's no tag on this.
[grabs microphone]
Hank Evans: Price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. I repeat: price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. That's Vagiclean. We've got a customer down here with a full-on fallopian fungus. She's baking a loaf of bread and I think it's sourdough.

Okay Jim Carry. is just plain dumb and funny in this movie.. how could he no know those kids were not his.. duh!!
-

-
February 10, 2008

-
February 6, 2008
Weak, apart from one or two funny scenes, there's nothing more in it.Carrey is a very exagerated actor, sometimes he is really awful.

If you enjoy Jim Carrey then you will love this one. In Me, Myself & Irene, Jim Carrey plays Charlie Baileygates, a cop for the best police force in the world (Rhode Island). In denial about his wife's affair, he's a nice guy who goes around tring to do the right thing but is taken advantage of every step of the way. Instead of confronting people, he takes the abuse, balls it up, and hides it in the pit of his stomach. His psyche can only take so much, though, and soon his alter-ego Hank pops out to do every libidinous thing Charlie would never do. It's a great premise for a Jim Carrey film. it's not the greatest Jim Carrey film. Famous for the lowbrow, shock comedies like Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, and There's Something About Mary, here the Farrelly brothers get lost in a series of lazy gags and an even lazier plot about some evil golf development and the woman, Irene (Renée Zellweger), who needs to be protected because she knows something about it. Some of the jokes hit (there's a bathroom scene that's 10 times funnier than the hair-gel gag in There's Something About Mary), but many more miss. There are some great concepts (his three sons are hip-hop geniuses) that don't go anywhere (they swear a lot). It's like the movie itself has a split personality--funny ideas trapped in a not-so-funny film

January 11, 2008
The premise gives Jim Carrey plenty of opportunity for the kind of rubber-faced comedy only he does so well.
-

FUCKING WHOOORRRRRE!!!!!!! Cheated on Jum Carry with a fucking midget... a Black Midget at that!! Lmao
-
December 24, 2007
One of my least favorite Farrelly Brothers movie. The shock/grossness factor is just too much. It wasn't as bad as "Say It Isn't So" but it's still lacking. Jim Carrey gets to overact and Renee Zellweger gets to scrunch her face. Everything is status quo.
-
December 7, 2007
Great movie, i like it.
Jim Carrey sure know how to act as a freak like this.
Love the part when Charlie slept with her...
His children are funny, and genius!
-

Our daddy may have advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage. But he is a very gentle person!
-
November 25, 2007
This was actually funny. I didn't expect it to be so but Carrey pulled it off magnificently. Though i really don't like Zellweger and she was probably the downfall of this movie.
-
October 25, 2007
this movie is bad,. not scary bad, just bad, it had bad condentations in it and bad hints. Jim carrey didt play a very nice character in this movie. and in the begining his newly we wife runds away with the limosene driver. how bad is that? like seriously WRONG. anyhow his finger or someones finger gets bit off. if i remember right. this is not a funny movie regardless of the fact that jimcarrey plays in it. i dont care what people say. i dont reccomend this movie to anyone.
-
October 24, 2007
The movie is a bit far fetch. I mean black children to a white couple? It just touches the surface of someone with a mental illness. But it's good
-
October 22, 2007
Ok, so this movie isn't good, but Jim Carrey is amazing. The control he has over his body is just astounding. I LOVE YOU JIM!
-
October 15, 2007
Carrey lives for these moments and he's the same old same in Me, Myself, and Irene. It's too bad that Irene, played by Zellweger, lacks any conception of comedy.
-
October 11, 2007
This was actually pretty funny. I usually hate the Farrelly Brothers, but this one was low on the gross-out sight gags and put Jim Carrey's aptitude for physical humour to really good use. I also liked Charlie's three sons. This was a pretty pleasant surprise.
-
September 26, 2007
Extra points for the cow-shooting scene and the sheer volume of profanity that comes from Charlie's sons. DO NOT WATCH A CENSORED/TV VERSION.
-
September 25, 2007
So much unecessary cursing, yet it was funny.
Carrey playing the duel role was odd, but he did an excellent job.
-
September 25, 2007
You can say what you want about Jim Carrey, but he masters most of the roles he plays with great skill - and a unique set of mimicry...
-
September 11, 2007
Carrey Is Talented And The Movie Is Funny And Ok But Not In His Great Works Although IT has Some Funny Scenes
-
September 5, 2007
A very funny movie. No doubt many of us can relate to the idea of pent up anger and frustration masked by 'niceness'.
-
September 5, 2007
This movie was strange. It's funny during some parts, weird during other parts, and kind of silly during the rest of it. It's probably the weakest of roles for Jim Carrey, but it was an okay movie.
-
August 26, 2007
The film is crude and offensive, and sometimes just really, really stupid beyond belief - nevertheless it's one of the film's I'm ashamed to say I enjoy a lot.
-
August 12, 2007
omg, i so understand where he's coming from about getting taken advantage of...and the movie was way hilarious
-
August 6, 2007
Caught me off guard as to how good it was. Some real funny moments. The first time he loses it in particular.
-
August 5, 2007
OMFG other than the mask, its my favourite jim carrey movie.. only a true schizophrenic can pull off that role
-
August 5, 2007
Pleasantly surprised by this! I wouldn't call it good, but I laughed my ass off. The 3 black guys put it over the top! Beats the hell out of any Will Ferrell movie!!! Just plain stupid fun!
-
July 30, 2007
One of the most classic first 15-20 minutes of any comedy movie ever but then drops in to a plain lack lustre movie
-
July 29, 2007
i like this film really funny. i most like the bit wid the cow wen the shoots it loads of times yet it still lives
-
July 28, 2007
Not a particularly good film, but the soundtrack is excellent. Full of Fagen / Becker cover versions
-
July 27, 2007
jim carrey..! Quality, i enjoyed this movie..! After all its got jim carrey in it his face just makes me laugh...! lol
-
July 26, 2007
a solid comedy from the farrellys. nothing that strays from their formula, and plenty for carrey to work with.
-
July 25, 2007
Carrey doesnt have to stretch far to pull of the schizo role, and his comedic timing is just perfect. Plus the little off color jokes just make this movie a riot.
-
July 24, 2007
OMG, love this one, Jim Carrey if so frigging hilarious in this one, I could watch this over and over again...
-
July 24, 2007
Jim Carrey is a legend, if you like his work, you will love this film!
If not and you are prim and proper I would say it's not worth your time. Very much for the creative sense of humour.
-
July 23, 2007
Quirky. Carrey is over-the-top as usual, and his committment sells the sometimes questionable humor. Good chemistry with Zellwger too
-
July 18, 2007
Jim Carrey is by far one of the best comedic actors of our time. This movie shows him at his best since Ace Ventura II.
-
July 16, 2007
I'm watching it right now, so I'm giving it 3 stars for now . . . I just finished it and went down to 2.5 - I put it "up" with Ace Ventura, not down with Liar Liar.
-
July 16, 2007
I think Jim Carrey is a very talented actor and I love all of his movies this one wasn't one of my favorites but ranks pretty high... A nice laugh your problems away movie
-
July 15, 2007
An endearing film which you just grow into as the film progresses. Carrey's 'sons' with their Black-dude attitude but White middle class upbringing, and sweet affection for their 'Daddy', just steal the film.
-
July 15, 2007
Another hella funny movie from Jim Carrey! He is the most funnies man ever! haha gotta love this movie!
-
July 14, 2007
very funny and moments of brilliance. Great acting by Jim Carrey and probably one of Jim Carreys best.
-
July 14, 2007
It's pretty stupid and crude. Not the best Jim Carrey, but not the worst either. I can't really imagine anyone else that could pull off the title role.
-
July 10, 2007
Mint film i love the scene where carrey is talking to a dildo saying 'somebody had fun' and his sons are piss funny.
-
July 7, 2007
This was prolly one of the most funniest movies i have ever seen, the concept is so basic, what we laugh at is just so logical, but over exposed! its great quality comedy!
-
July 3, 2007
OUTSTANDING, Pant wettingly funny!!! Gets me every time! Probably the only film i'd ever give 5 stars
-
July 2, 2007
I'm telling ya. Anyone who can act like Jim Carrey... is not right. He is a mad genious!!! SERIOUSLY!
-
June 30, 2007
You would think that because this is a Farrelly bros movie that I would've enjoyed it more, but this was also the first time that I saw Jim Carrey play a character that wasn't entirely goofy but instead played a character that was slightly psycho which for some reason is trully unsettling to me, as if I were taking a sneak peak into the darker side of his persona.
-
June 29, 2007
Jim Carey doin' his thing. Who better to play a split personality? If you don't like Carey's crude humor, you may still like this. His sons were a little over the top, though.
-
June 28, 2007
haha...love the part where he broke his nose and they were running after the train..omg my stomach was hurting from laughing soo hard!!!
-
June 26, 2007
The Zellweger-Carrey duo (technically trio) never really worked for me. The movie's like a food you know that's slightly undercooked. No matter how hard you try to swallow, you know something's not right.
-
June 24, 2007
Hilarious!! One of my favorite Jim Carrey movies ever. He's so good in this and so are his sons. They're hilarious.
-
June 21, 2007
surpisingly funny for a jim carrey movie that i xpected to be horrible.. his comedy had reached a repetitive boundary but was still laughable
-
June 21, 2007
Funny Jim Carey Movie! I laughed my ass off from the sons! Hercules, Big Tyme and Anthony Anderson!
-
June 20, 2007
I thought this movie was OK. I really liked the acting in it. But I thought the plot was a little weird.
-
June 15, 2007
well from the jim carrey muvies point of view...a bit controlled comedy.......though pretty laughable.....must wtch...
-
June 15, 2007
Look daddy he's a funny motha fucka! - We've got a full-on falopian fungus in isle five - But you said that you'd eat whale blubber, 'she will be, just as soon as I free Willy" - - This is one of the funies
