I'm pretty sure I would watch Vincent Price and Peter Lorre weave baskets for ninety minutes.

Unfortunately, the finest of the three stories is the one that goes for the laughs - and, by the way, Price and Lorre are really fun together here.

Roger Corman supplies a good horror trilogy w/ Vincent Price in all three tales. Laced w/ black comedy throughout w/ the best segment in the middle featuring Peter Lorre & Vincent Price in a wine drinking competition. Lorre is such a wife abusing drunk that he reminds me of Andy Capp

It would be difficult, if not impossible, to go wrong when you combine the tales of Edgar Allan Poe with the talents of Vincent Price. But wait, there's more! Throw in a villainous Basil Rathbone and an aging but still charming Peter Lorre and you've got a campy cult classic. Episodic 60's horror at it's cheesy best.

Vicent Price! Edgar Allen Poe!

Yeah, Corman 5 stars movie!!!...Why? It is his best attempt to mix irony, fun and terror. V.Price isn't so happy for Leonore's arrival, he put hate and irony in his words...delicious!!The Contest between a Fucker Sommelier (Vincent is a God!!) and the Cheated,Drunk 'Montresor' (P.Lorre is one of my faves, a great actor)! And the face of Vincent in the Case of Mr. Valdemar? This is a true mix of unbelievable fun and terror! Haha, that sweet swiss chocolate draining everywhere...great!!

This wasn't bad for an old flick. The first story went by kinda quickly. The 2nd "The Black Cat" was the best.

A fun anthology of short stories based on work by Edgar Allan Poe. All of the three segments are very well-made, and with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Basil Rathbone together, genre fans mustn't miss out.

They were interesting - not very close to the actual stories, though.

Another MGM release of one of the Poe/Corman trilogies, except there is a very high level of comedy in one, and the other two employing Vincent Price in his very best (and in one, moustacheless) players to push the Poe.
Other cast members include Basil Rathbone, Boris Karloff, and Peter Lorre... I got mine, Have you watched a Vincent Price film today?

The splendid triad Price, Lorre and Rathbone star this fun anthology loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe's short stories, all segments have the presence of ravishing women, and also a camp, silly but delightful parodic tone. you won't be scared, but you'll have a tremendous blast.

Fun and entertaining Corman/Price fare. Great lighting (thanks Mario Bava!!!) and imagery. Vincent Price is his usual great self as always. If you can appreciate a good, classic, atmospheric period horror flick this may be the trick. If you're an Edgar Allen Poe enthusiast you might be gravely disappointed. It's more fun than scary or creepy but definitely not a bad watch.

Great movie with Vincent Price and Peter Lorre. It was great to see Vincent Price in "The Black Cat" as a prissy pre-Frasier Crane wine tasting expert!
