Monkey Man

Tried so hard to be Wick. There are too many inconsistencies. Would've been 1 star had it not been for Patels dedication to the role and commitment to the hand to hand combat training he did

It was nothing like what I had expected. The story was weak, the cast was meh. I couldn't watch it without distraction..

That's a strange one. John Wick mixed with (I assume) Bollywood.

Too long, boring movie, bad plot. Good action sequences.

Awesome movie! Hats off to Dev Patel, Jordan Peele, and the rest of the production team!

A gritty and hyperviolent revenge story. Even though the main character is basically a superhuman able to take on multiple people with relative ease, it avoids entering cheesiness territory like John Wick. The plot could have been a bit more fleshed out.

Weak plot and drags overall boring expected better

Dev Patel dirige y protagoniza una película bien lograda, su historia tiene elementos de la cultura popular india, y le agrega el componente de Action Hero, las tomas son limpias, los efectos de cámara y la fotografía me parecen bien logradas, es una historia que es lenta al principio y se deja la acción desenfrenada al final, las escenas tienen acción, el héroe es fiel a su misión y nada lo saca de foco, no entra en romanticismos.

Tries hard to be an artsy "deep" film and also an action film and fails at both. Really boring plot, other than a coincidence that the main character happens to run into the final boss he's been looking for over decades. There's a weird romance angle that looks like it was cut out of the movie but some scenes remain. There's multiple scenes that are a knock off of Ong Bak and John Wick which just don't land anywhere as well as the originals.

Great movie! Dev Patel wrote, directed, and acts as the lead. What a debut. So talented. Great plot, great casting, great choreographed fight scenes, great direction, great editing, just go see.
