Frank Currier

Once anointed "the dean of cinema actors" by Photoplay magazine, dignified, gray-haired Frank Currier is best remembered for playing Quintus Arrius, Ramon Novarro's adopted father in Ben-Hur (1925). A top character star for the pioneering Vitagraph company in the 1910s, Currier died from blood poisoning after having a finger smashed in a car door.
