Bio: American screenwriter Jack McGowan came to films in 1933 from Broadway, where he'd written special comedy material for several "book" musicals and reviews. After collaborating on the script of Paramount's Sitting Pretty (1933), he moved to MGM, where he'd spend the rest of his movie career.
