1992
audience Reviews
, 88% Audience Score- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars1992 was a frusturating film. The first 15-20 minutes start off pretty good but quickly succumbs to predictable and cheaply made heist film. It’s a shame because Tyrese, Ray Liotta, and Scott Eastwood give solid performances here. I wish this film would have been more about the 1992 riots and just skipped over the heist aspect. The movie is nicely shot with the city of Los Angeles as the backdrop. The film adds in real life footage with newscasts and other footage from that time which are some of the more strong parts in this film. The movie then asks the viewer to disband their belief and enjoy the heist portion of the movie. They could have at least made it more believable. 1992 is a movie I would recommend skipping and gets 2 stars out of 5 from me.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThe performances were good. Rip Ray Liota. I liked the story but at times it was a little cheesy. Tim Treakle
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsKnowing this is probably Ray's last made movie before he died I gave it another star. It isn't 100% bad but it sure ain't good! Bad acting, bad storylines, cheap writing. Makes absolutely no sense... Playing it out around the riots is ridiculous. Not watching it ever again.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsDefinitely worth a watch. Nothing special, but not bad by any stretch. Well done by the actors and set against a meaningful, historical backdrop. Plus, ya know, Ray Liotta...
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsBasic at best and not great. Too simple and really not worth the watch.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe ability to be a gripping movie about triumph in the face of adversity was there.... BUT swing and a miss!!! One and done
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsNot a bad watch at all.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsContrary to most ratings I have seen I enjoyed this one immensely. Set in the backdrop of actual events I found the story of two sets of father and son’s extremely engaging. Ray Liotta puts in an extremely moving last performance. You are sure to “hate” him in this one which means he did his job. I was tensing up and engrossed until the final scene. Well done!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThe movie was great Tyrese shor that. Why do they always make him look like a weak person. Over all it was great.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsNot a bad movie by any means but it was super predictable at every turn, zero surprises. Loved the throwback to 1992. I'm a 70's baby so 1992 was my senior year and I remember all the riots clearly just like it was yesterday. We got some crazy good hip hop from that time period too. Regarding the movie, Tyrese had absolutely horrible aim with a gun and even worse driver. How was he the head of a gang? Lol Also Tyrese's son was super immature and dumb at everything he did in the movie... Except for the ending which I predicted out loud but I suppose that's how the director wanted it to turn out. Ray Liotta, rest in peace, his performance was one of the best villains I've seen in a while... in his very last movie too. I hope he wins an award posthumous for it.
