Except for the movie director part I was this kid in 1977. I have never felt so at home watching a film in my life. This film has so much heart. I only wish I could see more from this director. He has guts and a raw honestly that is so lacking in film today. Thank you for a wild ride I will never forget.

It's a fun story with fun jokes and references to 2001: A Space Odyssey... but it could've been 15 minutes shorter.

I don't know why this was #1 on rotten tomatoes. It's not funny, it's not ironic, all the jokes are metaphorical, and there is no sense of humor at all. Perhaps as a younger person of 25 my sense of humor requires more formal delivery… but I see nothing wrong with it. Probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen

I love great little films that are sometimes passed by and make us feel better about ourselves after watching them. This is a great little film.AAA+++

( 5-25-77 ) I give this a 5 star and some. I think it's sad for some of the 2&3 Star peoples. It tells me there unhappy in life. This was for sure an inspirational movie. I sent one clip to all of my family. All 6 had smiley faces and wanted to know what movie it was. We need more movies like this of real life ❤️🤣😀😂😃🤓

What a labor of love! There's a ton of superlatives that could be laid on this wonderful film... but you're better off just watching it for yourself!

This movie is exactly what it's supposed to be. Coming of age. Sci-fi. And just, good old-fashioned art. This movie is the perfect antidote to all of the Marvel superhero crap that's turned out on an annual if not monthly basis. Big Time enjoyment.

If you were born around the same time as myself or director of this gem, this will hit you hard in the nostalgia sack. And if you were a big of a sci fi nerd as both of us, a tear of joy will stream down your face more than once. I cannot recommend this film enough. I could go on and on and on about the actors or my favorite scenes, but space limits my gushing. I do have to tell you once thing. When our young protagonist is ushered into the hallowed halls of film legend, I will not mention the place, I gasped long and hard and sat forward in my chair during the scene. Thank you PRJ.

Absolutely one of the best, most heartfelt movies we have seen in a long time. So well done. Loved it.

Patrick Read Johnson's film is a wonderful ode to a bygone era of phantastic cinema that will probably never return. A work full of joy and hope, but also fear and disappointment, which speaks from the soul of many cinephile artists and is perhaps only fully comprehensible to them.
