I enjoyed the movie. The acting was really good. Only complaint would be the ending. I want to know what happend. Other than that a fun time.

The movie itself is okay, but I just couldn't get past the fact that the film is set in Missouri (which does NOT look like any part of Missouri I know) and practically every scene show Norman in his Deputy uniform with arm patches showing the immediately recognizable shape of the state of Texas. It's hard to watch 2 hours of such a flagrant screw up.

The cast is strong but the story slow.
  • Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
One of those movies that surprises you of how a simple story can leave a lasting impression by not going down the predictable route and just takes it time to develop the story and it characters. A pleasant surprise indeed.

If GOD blesses me with two sons or both sons and daughters. I pray it pleases Him to show this movie to teach them what NOT to do in real life. It teaches you not to dig yourself into a lie you truly DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF! It teaches you not to get into toxic relationships. Not to stay in a relationship that sturs up jealousy and the desire to learn how to shoot a gun. Not to cover up the guilt of your sibling. Not to become a conflict of interest in any situation. There are many ways to prevent this from happening to you even though this was set in the 1980s. It can still happen today! Learn from every movie you watch! I think the actors did great! I'm mad at the sheriff though! He could of solved this case! But thats what movies are for. To make you upset and ask why?! And I'm mad at the sister!!! What a mess!!!

A slow paced mystery drama with solid acting.

Amazing movie. And even more amazing how out of touch the critics are!!! But no one reads those now-a-days anyway.

Hmm, I watched this as it was marked as a 4.5 star movie on Sky TV. But it was so slow and drab. I didn't feel any real investment in the characters. It did get you wondering what you would do in that situation and the futility of a gun law that effectively allowed the situation to develop. To sum up, it past the time but we'd wish we discovered something else to view. And don't trust Sky ratings....

Yawn. I originally gave three stars while I was watching the movie. Then I saw the ending and dropped it to two stars. Alycia Debnam-Carey is a good actress but even she couldn't carry this snoozefest.
