Adalynn

Adalynn isn’t wholly satisfying, but it is effectively disquieting.

It’s an effective conceit for any dramatist, but when overused (as it is here), it risks leaving the impression that on-screen events are arbitrary and without consequence.

The film stands firm thanks to a solid story and a great performance from its lead, Sydney Carvill.

It certainly has excellent intentions, focusing its scrutiny on a new mother for whom the walls start to close in. But it quickly becomes turgid, and lacks the budget to really give clout to its metaphorical monsters.
