I really enjoyed this movie. One of the best sports movies I've seen.

A story that simply works and is true to it's title on multiple levels, everyone likes an underdog.

I tried watching this movie once before and am unsure why I bailed but I did bail. I picked it up again today and recognised I'd bailed on it previously, I pushed on through looking for a feel good film not knowing anything about the main character. I was rewarded with the full gamut of emotions that I appreciate from a good story and a good story it is, it took its time but the hardship of the slow start finally paid off.

One of the best movies I have ever seen. I watched it on a plane to Hawaii. This movie was almost perfect, it was just a bit too slow. Incredible acting and great casting choices.

Just bear with me through the lengthy introduction, as it will set the stage for you to comprehend the present and establish a sense of empathy towards it. This sports drama is truly extraordinary! It exudes an indescribable level of inspiration! It proves that dreams can materialize, as long as one believes unwaveringly and refuses to surrender. The protagonist encounters numerous obstacles, but what makes this narrative special is its foundation in reality. Recollecting this film brings tears of elation to my eyes, although I must admit that my words don't do it complete justice. :) The viewer, hand in hand with the main character, experiences a range of emotions - confusion, adversity, and ultimately triumph! It follows the path of a true classic hero! Without a doubt, this ranks among Zachary Levi's finest performances!

I'm from Iowa and live in Iowa so I'm very aware of this story and it's really good. However, there are like 2 things that make my head spin. Kurt lived in Cedar Rapids which has a population of over 100,00 people and he went to school at Northern Iowa which is in Cedar Falls which has a population around 40,000 but his movie would make you believe they he lived in the sticks somewhere. Also when he played for the Iowa Barnstormers he played in Veteran's Memorial Auditorium, but when they did an city shot of Des Moines they showed that he played in Wells Fargo Arena which wasn't built until after he was in the NFL. I know it's dumb but it seems like a quick google search could've fixed these issues.
