I can feel the depth and the warmth in this movie, the struggle between musculine folk dance and self identity is very powerful. it just beautiful and touching. I watched it again and I think this is my favorite LGBT movie of decade.

Really great movie, beautiful from every side and the part of the story are well combined: dance, romance and society issues. Also the performance from the main actor is very touching.

This is quite a cultural film, featuring lots of Georgian dancing and singing (which I quite enjoyed). There are some nice settings too of course. Its also somewhat thought provoking, given the plotline. The cast were good and it was quite a good film overall, so yes I'd recommend it.

Superb cinematography. Characters are realistic. Story integrates local flavor (Georgian culture) and the underground gay culture in that country. Special mention: editing, for those dance sequences. Bravo! Love that continuous shot after the wedding (while Merab was looking for Irakli); and then again after they talked. That last dance sequence reminded me of FLASHDANCE. Considering what the filmmaker had been through to make this movie, this one deserves nothing less than…. 10 / 10

Absolutely beautiful. My favorite film from this year. I could watch it 100 more times, easily.

I am such a coward that I stopped this film three times and each time i had to coax myself back onto the chair in front of the telly and start it again. It is an extraordinarily beautiful film to watch - gorgeously coloured sets of layered and dilapidated apartments and houses that have evolved with time, old and charmingly tainted wall paper, walls and rooms decorated with paintings, fabrics and objects that appear to have been in the family for generations, and beautiful people within. Couched in this setting, a rich culture of music and dance, and loving families and friendships, is this story of a young man's defiance in the face of hatred and repression masquerading as a hyper masculine ideal. The story is well told and utterly authentic, and the acting superb, so that the movie draws you in and takes you along until the final, unexpected finale. in this film courage, in the face of all that might be lost, is wonderfully depicted which in turn must give courage to anyone living in repression and fear.

A great homogeneous film included some sexual scenes. I was a little confused at first but after reading all those comments after Cannes 2019, I went for it undoubtedly. Lightings and sounds are enjoyable. Main actor has an inspirational face and the director was focussed on it totally through those motions of eyes. Must-watch movies!

If people might ask one day how do gays feel, love and live then this is the right movie. Emotions are so nicely worked by just a move of hands or a way of looking that makes this movie impressive. During the movie you don't have time to think what is happening because is already happening and you are busy trying to search yourself as human being in those deep emotions. I'd hope this movie would be an OSCAR but yeah they lost a good movie!!! For people that like good movies, please don't miss this one!🍀

I loved this movie! The only thing that disappointed me a little was the ending. But what a wonderful film filled with culture and emotions.
