Anyone But You

Despite its appealing leads, Will Gluck's romcom is too generic to stand out.

I'm pretty vibes-based, and I think the vibes in this movie are just super unpleasant and sour. I never liked either of these people.

The two stars are easy on the eyes and, on a scene-by-scene basis, as charming as you want from a big jar of marshmallow fluff.

For as effective as Sydney Sweeney’s lethargic blankness is on Euphoria, it’s not an especially great quality for a rom-com lead.

Both leads are attractive, but their personal chemistry is nonexistent. Sweeney feels particularly uncalibrated for the film’s light, wacky tone, delivering every line with flattened portentousness even as she’s meant to be scatterbrained.

At the very least, it’s not Shakespeare. It’s not even “10 Things I Hate About You.”

This frothy dose of sun, sand, and beautiful people may not be for everyone, but it’s definitely for me.

Glen Powell continues to prove that he has "it."

The charming characters and hilarious writing allow the audience to see past any logistical or logic discrepancies because all and all the goal of the film is to let the audience have fun. And fun is exactly what this movie is.

Anyone But You represents the return of the romantic comedy genre to the silver screen, but sadly, the movie doesn’t really do anything new to warrant that opportunity.
