It's hard to pinpoint why this isn't a better film. It has all the elements, well paced, beautifully made, exciting, gory and some original elements but it all comes together to fall very short of Dawn of the Dead (2004) and the original Romero trilogy. It even falls short of Land of the Dead (2005) which it actually feels quite similar to. Thankfully it is vastly better than the latter Romero of the dead films. So it starts with a really good opening scene, beautiful and engaging, so beautiful. The ending is also excellent. The production quality is incredibly high with great music, cinematography, effects and sound design. So what is wrong with this film? For me the biggest issue was the lead character and the casting choice. I get that he had to be big for the story but he's the character and the way he's played is so uncharismatic and unengaging that you're not invested in their plight, the lead character should do the opposite. None of the characters are nice people so I didn't find myself engaged in their survival. Sometimes the film is a little boring and I think that's because it is a bit pretentious like the director didn't want to make another zombie film. I appreciate how they tried to expand zombie lore but ultimately I didn't like the expansion, it should be about the people and not the zombies evolving. Overall it's hard to say exactly why I didn't like this more, it has some great elements and ideas but it falls flatter than it should because it doesn't have a soul.

The worst roster of characters I've seen in a zombie movie, and probably the worst writing. The least I've ever cared about characters dying, down to their constant idiotic decision making. If you shut your brain off you can maybe enjoy it, but then, you may as well go to sleep. I give it the 2 stars for visual style, everything else was a waste of the actors and the audience's time

It's barely fine but personally noticed some plotholes and some weird choices made by characters. The use of DOF (Depth of Field) in this movie was a big turnoff. I liked the chemistry between some characters but some characters really didn't work (Bad acting, bad writing or bad choices for this character). Overall the plotholes just killed it for me. The intro was pretty great, the montage of events and music really fitted the tone of the movie.

Personally Idk why people don't like it. This was a fun film and it was different. I never seen a heist in the middle of a zombie apocalypse before so I thought that was cool. I also enjoyed the zombies dynamics and interactions with each other, with there being a leader and an actual zombie organization lol. It was action packed, with decent acting. I would recommend it.

People take movies too seriously. Zombies are obviously not real, so I'm dumbfounded by the reactions of people who wanted to feel for the characters, get invested, etc. again, it's a zombie movie set in Vegas. Supposed to fun, over the top, non/sense. Anyone can understand the plot, shots were cool, you can watch it with some popcorn and have a good time. Overall, I was entertained.
