It's a marvelous movie and though it gets a bit annoying with how much it repeats itself that just makes it even more realistic. It also shows how hard it is for not only those dealing with an addiction but also for family and friends of people who have addictions. Timothee Chalamet yet again is perfect for his part and does a truly fantastic job.

Although very repetitive, the movie does a good job at portraying how some addicts behave: the manipulation, the lies, and even self-lies; the despair and feeling of walking towards the abyss but not being able to stop it. And also, how parents feel in these situations. Having dealt with many drug addicts and alcoholics my whole life, i can say that Timothée Chalamet's acting in this is off fhe charts here. Just small movements and looks portray so well the tornado of emotions his character is going through. As i mentioned, the movie becomes very repetitive, but often times, in real life, that is exactly how these cases go: a constant, repetitive offering of help and effort from family members, followed by constant, repetitive "start overs", relapses, suffering, disappointment, lies, manipulation, and ultimately, feeling of being powerless in the face of such a destructive thing as substance addiction.

Good movie but definitely could've expanded on the characters more, especially Timothy. Nevertheless it was a very inspirational true story and I would recommend it.

This is a huge disappointment, particularly considering the caliber of talent involved, and what I was hoping would be a devastating family drama instead comes across as a repetitive, almost antiseptic after-school special. Performances are fine if not particularly noteworthy - everyone seems to be going through the motions but nothing touched me emotionally. And to be perfectly honest, when Carell and Amy Ryan share a scene toward the end of the film, all I could think of was THE OFFICE. It's certainly watchable but feels like a missed opportunity on so many levels.

I wont ever recover from this

A film that understands how to convey layered emotions that will put inside to shame. From absolutely perfect performances of Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet, to the thought out and meaningful Cinematography and directing that completes this complex story. Great soundtrack, pretty scene coloring, very good sound editing (and editing all together), this movie is a sad burning sensation that achieves everything it set out to show and much more as it connects to the audience in a way that not many do. A must watch!

"Beautiful Boy" delivers a realistic and raw exploration of drug addiction's impact on a family. The film's strength lies in its heartfelt performances, particularly the lead actors' portrayal of complex emotions and turbulent relationships, which significantly enhance the narrative.

Beautiful Boy is a amazing movie. From a girl who has family members who deal with addictions, its not only the person behind all the drugs and alcohol that's getting affected. This movie changed me personally. It changed my perspective. It's a beautiful movie, and it deserves its credit. It's a very sad movie but those sometimes are the best kinds of movie. I honstly have watched over 70 movies this year (2023) and Beautiful Boy was the most impactful. I haven't gone one day without thinking about it for the better. After I watched this movie I realized I want to help people with their Mental Health and how important it is to help people. Be supportive and understand all sides of it. + it has an OUTSTANDING sound track ( when beautiful boy by John Lennon starts playing I promise you, you will start bawling) & amazing actors. Please watch it, it won't waste you time & change your perspective in life forever.
