The Passion of the Terminator.

Overall, 'Black Easter' is somewhat goofy yet fun to watch just to while away time.

A mash-up of Back to the Future Part II, Loki, Terminator, and Rosencrantz and Jesus Are Dead probably shouldn't work, and it arguably doesn't. But one thing's for sure: it's never boring.

It's the Starship Troopers of Christian films.

People often ask me what the worst movie I've ever seen is. There's no real answer to that, although Black Easter would certainly be an acceptable response.

Jim Carroll's Black Easter is definitively one of the biggest over the top time traveling movies ever. But the cool thing is you can enjoy the ride just for laughs or because of your religious and spiritual beliefs. So everybody wins!

I understand (director Jim) Carroll's desire to attract a wider audience. But in doing so, he has diluted his far-out concept in an attempt to make his movie mainstream.

If you had the chance to go back in time and change history, where would you go? I guarantee you, you won't ever think of the one that Black Easter holds as a theme.

presents a battle between good & evil that is eternal, even timeless - but also, for the non-Christian viewer, a cheesy, utterly bonkers dash down the wilder byroads of genre and through the kitschier aspects of faith. There is nothing quite like it.

...but it is fiction and it is entertainment - and something unique at that. No matter who the viewer is, you honestly can say you've never seen anything like it and that has to count for something.
