As the wife of a disabled retired Veteran, this movie really hit home for me and brought tears to my eyes. It truly speaks to the broken VA system. My husband has been fighting for over a decade for some of the benefits he should be entitled to. The first time he was denied the VA said they needed his medical records, he provided those. The second time he was denied the VA said they needed proof that he had been in combat and wanted him to obtain letters from his former unit, he's been retired for over 12 years! The government knows he was in combat, they sent him there. My mother lost her husband a couple of years ago and he was a Vietnam era Vet. They made her jump through hoops when he passed away. These soldiers put their lives on the line for this country, but this country does not take care of our Vets the way the Vets take care of this country, protecting, serving and putting their lives on the line. The fact that it turned out the VA made the mistake, was even more heart wrenching. This movie is a must-see for anyone with family or friends who are Vets and it should be used as a training video for the VA. The end of the movie indicated Bryan still had not received his money, despite the fact that it was determined VA made the mistake. When will the government start holding the VA accountable for its on-going failure to protect and serve our Vets the way our Vets have protected and served this country. This movie was phenomenal, and John Boyega deserves an Oscar for his performance.

I think I cried during the entire movie, it's absolutely heartbreaking. Watching the emotional break of each of the characters was fascinating on its own but especially Lance. I recommend watching this 100%.

Truly heart wrenching and eye opening. Must watch. Brilliant performance from Boyega, Williams, Beharie and Leyva. It's a devastating portrayal of the sad reality and injustice that we live in and amongst- purposeful bureaucratic negligence.

Inspired by a true story John Boyega stars as a discharged Marine veteran Brian Easley co-starring next to Nichole Behari, Connie Britton, and Michael K. Williams In 2017 his disability check was stolen from him Now he's holding up a Wells Fargo bank hostage threatening to blow himself and everyone in it Unless his demands are met garnering the attention of the media and the authorities to get his message across The movie truly is this generation's 'Dog Day Afternoon' which starred Al Pacino but takes a jab at modern politics with today's struggles veterans have to go through Director Damaris Corbin has pulled compelling performances from Boyega, Beharie, Britton and Williams, which is riveting The film really takes its time at the beginning which kinda diffuses the tension a lot Acts more like a 1970s stage play then a pulse-pounding thriller I did find it challenging to stay awake and invested Boyega's performance does shine though being a man that can be a lost soul in this nation of ours Anyone can suffer real struggles like Brian and there comes a point where in our lives we break to the point of desperation and hostility This prolly would've been more fitting for television

This film connected with me thanks to a strong performance from John Boyega. The department of Veteran Affairs is embroiled in red tape and it ruins lives. A cautionary tale that is well drawn with a fabulous cast that includes the great Michael K. Williams in his second to last film. Based on a true story that connects the VA and how the police deal with people of color. Final Score: 8.7/10

So heartbreaking to watch, knowing that with our system, his fear of being killed is valid. But I was still hopeful. SHAME on the VA. Our people deserve so much better! So thankful he left behind his words to his daughter......be good to people. My hope is those words reach and are practiced by everyone.....always.

Overall, John Boyega brings a knockout, compelling and realistic performance to the screen. Breaking is a gripping and tense film based on true events, and I was thankful to see many aspects revealed to the world. The first two acts hooked me deeply; however, the third act struggled to wrap everything up and fell into a much slower and predictable path. Still, there is some impressive work to witness here, and the storyline left me feeling heavy-hearted as the credits rolled.
