Very boring of all 4... didn't have to kill Firth in the movie

The joke was over the last time: personally I found this pretty boring, but I appreciate that others will enjoy it.

Bridget has done it again, they kept the characters true themselves while showing growth. will forever be sad we lost mr darcy, i hope we get another movie or perhaps a series.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is undeniably sentimental and nostalgic, banking on the feelings the audience has built up for these characters over the years.  That said, the movie is very funny and surprisingly heartfelt.  With this fourth entry, the Bridget Jones comedy franchise has grown beyond its romantic comedy origins into an ongoing story that marks the passage of time.  Like Bridget, this movie occasionally wobbles but it comes out on top in the end, smiling.  Recommended. detroitcineaste

Im not sure if I was watching a different film compared to the other reviews ... but I thought this was simply awful... cliched and purile storyline, excrutiately painful acting (though the script didn't help). Renee Zellweger with a very odd expression/pursed-lips throughout the entire film which very soon became annoying. Whereas we could do with an uplifting movie with events such as they are in the world right now... this movie only made me depressed to think how low standards have fallen.... Especially sorry to see that the (usually) fabulous Chiwetel Ejiofor and Emma Thompson loaned their talent to the endeavour but alas even they couldn't save it...

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (2025) is a heartfelt, bittersweet finale to the iconic rom-com series. Renée Zellweger shines as a widowed Bridget, navigating grief, single motherhood, and modern dating with her signature charm. The film balances humor and emotional depth, with Hugh Grant’s Daniel Cleaver stealing scenes. While new love interests (Leo Woodall, Chiwetel Ejiofor) lack the spark of past romances, the story’s focus on healing and growth resonates. A fitting, if somber, send-off for a beloved character.
