It’s engaging and well-intentioned. However, a bit more narrative heft towards the last latter half would’ve benefited greatly as a way to reward the reviewer - instead of feeling like an after thought. Still, it’s a great lesson to learn about resilience and the power of the human spirit.

Sometimes a movie hits so close to home that it's virtually impossible to be objective about it. This is one of those times. Having faced weight issues my whole life and at one time losing 75 pounds, this movie is scarily accurate in its portrayal of the physical and mental anguish that comes with being overweight. I don't look into mirrors anymore. I don't allow my picture to be taken. And even when I was thinner, the demons of being fat haunted me. But this movie gave me hope. The battles Brittany faces daily in her quest to achieve health, both internally and externally, are painfully honest. I could write volumes about how this movie moved me. I had tears and goosebumps by the end. Objectively, the movie is very well made but certainly not cinematic perfection. But when you come across a motion picture that feels like the screenwriter peered into your own life, it makes virtually every misstep forgivable. If you've dealt with issues involving weight and self esteem, I guarantee you'll find something to which you can relate. This is a very special movie that I hope develops a cult following over the years.

OMG.The year has started and Ive been feeling kinda meh, unmotivated. Watching this movie reminded me of all Ive accomplished this past year, including running a half marathon, finally kicking my bad habit of over drinking, letting people into my life, and trying to not be judgmental of others. I 100% relate to this movie and its delivery of its message.

Really enjoyed this film. Dealt with friendship, body image issues-- the challenge of changing your perspective on life in an honest way. Great characters.

I honestly can't fault this movie. Jillian Bell was perfect. It is so human. Laughed, cried, loved it.

The movie is just a person with lots of problems who's moaning 50% of the time, being mean, rude, or bitchy 49% of the time, being cute or nice 0.9% of the time—and seeming inspirational 0.1% of the time. All the other actors are mandatory extras, as it were. "Dramedy"? It's a documentary / biography; towards the end, I kind of guessed it's based on a true story—and it turns out it was. I mean, how can it possibly be inspirational if the only depiction of someone being inspirational is the protagonist periodically and continually training—looking just like you or I would if we were to practise running—and checking the bathroom scales?

It was really inspiring. At first I thought it might be something about body shaming, not no its actually a great inspiring movie to be a better person
