Burial is definitely no horror flick - just carting Hitler's body around in a box in order to keep the narrative of his death in power.

Burial teases you with the idea, or feeling that something big is at foot, that horror suspense and the fantastical, are just around the corner... Nope! What awaits you, is a clunky, poorly directed, slow moving, boring film, about German partisans and Russian soldiers still fighting it out, (the war being over) for Hitler's inconsequential, irreverent remains.

Tension filled war-story that plays with the rules of reality, but is able to make for one of the more gripping war-movies of the last few years.

Long-winding running here & there drama...

I went to see the premier of Burial in London this week. Acting was decent. Cinematography was good. And while the storyline is an original take on the last days of WWII and Hitler, I was surprised to see it being played at frightfest 2022. After all, this is a London horror festival. It is neither a horror film or one that makes you jump. There are werewolves, but my nephews halloween head costumes are more scary. Very disappointing!! The director Ben Parker stayed for a Q&A afterwards and he does seem a nice guy.

Burial deals in the always fun "what ifs" of history while creating a smartly self aware film with a dark and tense atmosphere all supported by a sharp production.
