With that much ambition on display, the movie leaves an impression reminiscent of the high-minded "Key & Peele" sketches that paved the way for Jordan Peele to become a master filmmaker.

Maybe it's the hell we're all living through right now, but Tyler Cornack's orificial fantasy struck me as a hilariously bawdy, intermittently inspired act of vivacious vulgarity.

For better or worse, it's a one-of-a-kind experience.

So committed to playing its absurd premise completely straight that it actually works on its own terms, never once feeling like a so bad its good guilty pleasure.

This is a police-procedural deadpan horror-comedy that aims to scratch every itch that it can. This is an imaginative and surreal dive into the subconscious, and you can handle it.

In leaning heavily into the idea of playing the premise straight, Butt Boy finds itself as even more of a one-joke movie than it already was.

I think I like "Butt Boy," though I'm not entirely sure. It's definitely a curious sight to behold.
