Captain America: Brave New World

I found it absolutely impossible to get interested in it. The writing is at its very, very best functional.

Action scenes pop up frequently enough to keep the most fidgety teen engaged.

The not-so-secret weapon this CAPTAIN AMERICA has going for it is Harrison Ford. Don’t believe the nay-sayers out there: Brave New World is a 21st century Tall Tale, and if it takes two viewings to take it all in, so be it


If Brave New World is a sign of things to come, then the MCU is in more trouble than we thought.

It feels as if Sam is merely the guest star in someone’s else story in this particular chapter of the MCU’s interwoven narrative.

Brave New World is unconcerned with plumbing any of its latent politics, let alone exploring any fresh ground. Instead, the movie serves up another sloppily knocked-together bit of pseudo-entertainment.

Brave New World's kinetic moments of spectacle aren’t enough to make the movie feel like it has anything substantive to say about who Sam is or how his becoming Captain America changes the world

A plot without something to say is directionless, and characters without a point of view are doomed to remain one-dimensional. The simple fact is, you can’t make a political thriller devoid of political commentary...


Another frustratingly mediocre MCU film. It has its high points, but all throughout the runtime you're constantly reminded of better films in the franchise. And your brain keeps coming up with a better version of this film than the one they delivered.

Captain America: Brave New World has the moral backbone of a piece of wet bread.
