Close (/kloʊs/) is a 2022 coming-of-age drama film directed by Lukas Dhont 🧒 It’s very good! 😀 I’d recommend it 👍🏼 Featuring an excellent performance from Dambrine, there is much said in the silence here… Thirteen-year-olds Léo and Rémi have always been close, but they drift apart after the intimacy of their relationship is questioned by schoolmates.

The kid actors were impressive! This movie really left a mark on me just like Moonlight. After the death, it did lose some steam for me.

It was an interesting film about the 2 young bff boys. The acting was excellent with some very heart to heart screens. It's worth the watch. Btw Roger Ebert reviewer Remi played an oboe not a clarinet.

I was somewhat devastated when this movie concluded. I had a sick feeling to my stomach - like I was punched in the gut. I didn't want to speak to anyone or see anyone. I had gone through an experience. This may very well be the finest film I've ever seen about childhood friendship. The dissolution of a relationship is hard enough for an adult, let alone a youth, and this perfectly captures the gradual deterioration and the ensuing effects. Young Dambrin basically puts an arrow through your heart - it's one of the great youth performances ever. This is awards-caliber work, at any age. I'd also like to recognize Dequenne as the mother of one of the boys. I love a movie that appreciates the importance of silence. Often a look or a gesture or even stillness can relay more than pages of dialogue. And there are multiple scenes here that prove this conclusively. I'd encourage mature children to watch this as a warning of peer pressure and the importance of not letting those around you dictate how you live your life. A truly GREAT movie!
