Coda is a Mort (‘Middle Of Road Tearjerker’) and if that’s what you like, you will like this.

The sense of calculation makes the journey feel like a lockstep march; the movie’s sense of a story that’s dictated rather than observed makes its good feelings feel bad.

No theatrics, no gimmicks - just a wonderful coming-of-age gem that aims directly at the heart and hits the bullseye.
