Copshop

I'm getting to enjoy Gerrard Butler more on screen than ever before. I don't think this is great, but there are bits that worked well...not terrific, not terrible, but interesting.

(Alexis Louder) is absolutely magnetic in "Copshop," an energetically entertaining B-movie joyride through the visuals, music and blood-splattered plots of... '70s crime films...with a detour through the American Western for good measure.

It's among the best Tarantino-influenced thrillers to have made it to theaters in the last quarter-century.

If the idea of a cage match between Grillo and Butler that's set in mostly separate cages, until it isn't, sounds like Guy Movie Heaven to you, well, ascend at will.

​Fast, funky and ballistic, Copshop references the '70s cop actioner and its Western roots, letting the bullets ricochet and the genres collide.

Carnahan says to us, "If you are a fan of dark humor, a twisty plot, and intense, bloody action, I am here to give it to you in a visually stylish, enjoyably nasty fashion."

...a watchable yet erratic thriller that ultimately feels like it could (and should) have been seriously streamlined...

what a fun throwback movie. I smiled, I laughed, & I just sat there having the time of my life. It’s a bit overly long but they don’t make movies all too much like this one!

Copshop is relentlessly entertaining and has a breakout performance from Alexis Louder.
