Death on the Nile

It's very well done... It's darker and meaner than the original Agatha Christie [novel].

Branagh remains a sublime Poirot, and his direction of the material is frequently marvelous.

Not a whisker out of place...

As a whole, Death on the Nile has flaws that outweigh its old-fashioned charm.

The camera whirls giddily, dizzy from the sparkle and spectacle, but not quite able to conceal the fact that this is an empty bauble of a movie.

The template of this film isn’t an unfamiliar one at all - if anything, it is probably just dead in the water.

All who enjoy Agatha Christie novels for the cleverly put-together puzzles and familiar characters, are sure to be disappointed with this version

A sequel that is slightly superior to the predecessor when Branagh takes Poirot's magnifying glass, but its whodunit mystery on the Nile is not able to hide the weaknesses that sink its plot into a regular and predictable river. [Full review in Spanish]

Might take forever to get going with its extremely long first act… & gives to many indicators to who the killer will be… making it obvious before the murder happens… but still I found it surprisingly entertaining in the back half
