This is a fantastic movie and has been entertaining, even now. It does draw interesting parallels to current year 2024

Its great that the dystopian elements are played mostly for laughs as it helps distinguish the movie among these types of thrillers and makes the commentary more palatable. Stallone is fine (he's just very Stallone but he isn't asked for too much by the script thankfully) but Snipes is incredible, giving exactly the right kind of energy for the villain.

Really enjoyed the satire on this one, Stallone's character and the villain also have a perfect chemistry. Though this movie does not deserve to be 2 hours long and it's script fails hard some few times. I still wish for a prequel about the Demolition Man's previous adventures before he was frozen. A Die Hard-esque movie about that mall kidnapping case could be perfect.

A forgetable action flick. It doesn't "predict" nearly as much as many people say it does. It has forgetable characters, a convoluted plot alongside a setting which frankly doesn't make much sense. The fight scenes, Stalone's quips and the villain carry the movie on their back.

Who new in 93 they would nail the current social atmosphere. I love Stallone and all his movies. This is one of my favorites.

In 2024 this is excellent. I won't spoil it, but this movie hit on some things and I was thoroughly entertained.

There's no more an iconic 90s Sylvester Stallone role than this. Stallone had already portrayed two wildly popular characters in John Rambo and Rocky Balboa, but at the time, both characters had outlived their usefulness and their popularity was starting to wane. Thus came along the creation of Demolition Man. A satirical action comedy based partly on Stallone's own feelings that he might have outlived his own usefulness, he plays the character John Spartan, a police officer who is literally from a different era brought back to take on a threat from his past. Back then the movie was fun and proved that regardless of his age, Stallone shouldn't be counted out, something he'd once again prove later in his career. Sadly, the movie doesn't quite hold up, mostly due to the change in modern storytelling sensibilities, despite satirical takes on the future ironically coming to pass, (notably, an society run by AI, calls for police to be less aggressive and the prominence of PC culture) . Let's just hope we all learn how to use the 3 seashells, so we're not laughed at.

It's pretty good. Not quite as much of a visionary film as I was led to believe.

So close to reality 20 years later! Great entertainment!

So-so 90s Stallone action vehicle. Great work with the sets and costumes that overlay a convincing sci-fi feel, but the themes and ideas are not deep or thought provoking at all. Great over the top performances by Snipes, Stallone and a very young Sandra Bullock.
