A generic posession film that is Blomkamp's worst project thus far.

Would have been better as a film adaption of "The Evil Within" than a new, untested project with poor writing. The film address possession uniquely and how to deal with it, however it deviates from its start with a rip-off S.T.A.R.s-Vatican-esq-tactical special forces squad inserted into the narrative. Though low-budget, it has an interesting directional style with effects showing the A.I. memory world. The film forgets its narrative and premise. Story is lacking and characters are flat.

Neil blomkamp had great ideas for a horror movie such as Demonic but It doesn't deliver anything good, I honestly prefer a Sequel to Chappie which sadly he canceled, talking about Not making enough money, Demonic made 366 thousands that's worse.

Yeah I honestly prefer a Chappie Sequel over a Demonic Sequel.

Overall, what starts as something mysterious and promising, sadly turns into something flat, and the film takes a nosedive in the second and third acts. Performances are fine, and aspects relating to the audio and fun visuals are also great. The film's biggest letdown is its plot and development of the key character, both of which become dull and forgettable. Moments of mystery are generally predictable. Sure, there's some fun and creative ideas relating to sci-fi and horror; I just personally hoped for something stronger rather than this vague and uninteresting movie.

What a pedantic movie. Right at the beginning, the clear errors of continuity already made me uncomfortable, like the characters talking at the table, and with each switch of camera, the cola-cola is full of ice, the other take it has no ice, back to the main camera, ice in it, I mean, seriously, I immediately saw it, and has anyone seen this or they don't even care?... And that's not even close to the worst part of the movie. The idea itself is good, but the script is so weak, full of expository dialogues, and this main actress who has no expression at all and only knows how to do duck beak made me give up before 1 hour of film.

The idea behind Demonic is good, but the execution and the narrative chosen are not. Without enough to focus on it's just an idea... a confused and muddled idea. That idea being - demonic possession finding its way into virtual reality, complete with exorcists and all. I do believe in demonic possession, and the idea of it finding its way into virtual reality does have potential, but this just missed the mark by a sizeable margin. Horrid ending.

Man, this movie had barely anything going for it. You tell this was made during the pandemic. A high concept of tech-horror movie need more money and time to become the better film Neill Blomkamp want. Overall it's blandly forgettable, no scares, bad writing and acting, and effects that look like VR are crap. This is worse than Chappie.

I thought it was pretty good. Maybe people expected more. But its a low budget horror movie. It would make a great tv series. In fact, moon knight it basically that.
