Story is wrong. Every major plot has no meaning. The animation is terrible, goku's hair, the environment ... looking like a PS2 game sometimes. Completely took me out of the db universe.

It was ok. Nothing special about it. Boring for the most part. Animation looks ok but not perfect at all. Music is good. Ok movie. Doesn't even come close to being as good as the Broly movie.

Graphics are mind blowing; if you're a DB fan, this is it. Only wish it was longer!

I loved the new animation style and the character development was amazing. The awesome battles were so interesting and some gave me chills, highly recommend giving it a watch to anyone even if you don't watch much dragon ball, awesome movie!

it's so good I loved the cgi and the animation and the fights were on another level

I like the story line going back and not changing how the original story line unfolded. The first fight with Piccolo with Red Ribbon Army could have been way better, but they had to put in the very old distracting sound effects words. Also they need to stop using CGI, it clearly looks awful and noticeable. There is a reason the Dragon Ball franchise has become what it has been, and that is attention to detail. Being able to see the CGI really takes me out of the enjoyment experience, and not full get into Anime like I use to. Their not the first to use CGI and all Anime companies needs to stop going down this path, and keep the art form the way it should be.

Do yourself a favor and just read this arc instead of watching. The story wasn't bad but the animation is absolutely awful, normal episodes are animated significantly better. The characters and everything else look like they don't belong due to the poor cgi. It's as if everything was stacked on top of each other on a piece of paper for example as opposed to all being part of the same visual plane. Similar to a fighting game where the background is clearly a separate layer from the characters. It works for games so the background doesn't distract from the action, but in a movie it ruins the immersion when the characters, and everything else, are clearly separate layers. I get that cgi is used to speed the process up but it shouldn't be done at the expense of the quality of the animation. Easily the worst looking dragonball movie or episode out there. I really hope that this animation style falls out of favor but don't have high hopes seeing as the new Triguns animation was just as bad with their characters

As a childhood DBZ fan, this movie was amazing. Reinvigorated a lot of my love for this franchise by paying homage to OG characters that have fallen out of the spotlight and also crafting new interesting characters that stay true to DBZ story telling. Loved it, highly recommend to any dragon ball fans.

This new movie brings back some nostalgia from the Cell Games saga and is overall a good time. It does have some weak points but before I get to it, i'll list some of the positive. ***SPOILERS AHEAD*** Positives: -They finally did something with Gohan's potential. -Gigachad Piccolo, literally Orange Piccolo is Gigachad Piccolo. -Dr. Hedo and Gamma 1 & 2 are interesting characters. -The special FX (explosions, energy beams, ki, etc) are top notch. -A full close-up shot of Bulma's ass (yeah they really went for it) -Seeing Broly training with Goku and the Trio dynamic with Vegeta might lead to some interesting future movie/arc. -Having Gohan use Special Beam cannon instead of a Kamehameha was a perfect choice. Anyone can agree Piccolo was always more of a father figure to Gohan than Goku ever was. Him using Piccolo's special attack instead of Kamehameha in a scene that's a clear reference to the moment he used Father-Son Kamehameha is a very strong moment imo and a great hommage to Piccolo who's been such an important figure to Gohan over the years. -Vegeta wins (although it's kinda lame how they did it, still a W for Vegeta tho). Negatives: -The most important point. The CGI, while the animation is great, many scenes were lessened by the 3D-ish looks. An example of that was Gohan's hair during his Unlocked Potential. It just looks bad and that sucks for such a great moment, I wish they simply took how SSJ3 Goku's hair looked during the Cell Saga and made it white... that would've been better. Overall I like the DB more when it's 2D. -The Red Ribbon army and Magenta are lame. They are the typical boring ''dumb'' villain. -Cell Max is also lame, strong sure but he's doing exactly what Broly enraged does. Big, strong, mindless. It's disappointing because Perfect Cell was much more than that. What made him fearsome was how cunning he was, how he could evolve and adapt quickly. He was smart, merciless and he kept his cool (for the most part). -Goten & Trunks are useless and their comedic stupidity feels out of place for most parts of the battle. Overall it's super fun and action packed, especially for those who already watched the Cell Saga. Enjoy!
