Dreamcatcher

If you can make it past the first act it's almost worth staying for the afterparty...Dreamcatcher doesn't exactly add anything new to the post-slasher movie but it does have a pulsating soundtrack and a surprisingly strong wrap up.

It's a struggle to parse emblematic and important trauma infliction themes from an execution that gets lost in dizzying genre-hybrid ambitions that become a numbing trance.

...the kind of slasher that is not fully realized in terms of the usual rules and tropes, but it also works as a different type slasher and as a pretty film to entertain for a while.

You'll be too busy being annoyed at the headache-inducing incomprehensibility of it all to be frightened.

Shallow and all surface, this not-scary, nonsensical, and far too long "horror" movie offers nothing new and seems to have been made by people whose chief interest was posing for the camera.

The story ends up collapses under its own weight. The premise is a fine one and the setting is unique, but nothing comes together like it should.

While Dreamcatcher drags a bit in the second half, it's interesting to watch a stylistically-talented director grapple with his film's moral quandaries in real-time.

A misguided attempt to fuse disparate genres together...the longer the film plays, the more it devolves into a confused, muddled mess of bad plotting, unlikeable characters and ridiculous dialogue.

'Dreamcatcher' is a solid attempt to introduce a new sound to the world of horror, but the track ends up coming out as overproduced noise.

With a little more focus and some trimming of the fat, Dreamcatcher could have been truly great rather than decent.
