Beautiful, haunting film. Superb acting, cinematography and film score. Grateful that I didn't allow the negative reviews to prevent me from such a wonderful experience.

A wonderful movie filled with so many meaningful messages. It's a good ole classic feel movie that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. We don't get to enjoy these types of movies often, so watch and enjoy!

Watchable but that's only because of Coleman's performance. The script is almost entirely unbelievable, clearly the product of the fact that Mendes hasn't interacted with any normal people for decades.

I really don't know what the critics were thinking on this one. I loved it completely. Lyrical, quiet and atmospheric, Empire of Light rings all the bells without all the whistles. Wonderful performances and a remarkably light touch over very heavy country.

Brilliant performances, especially by the leads and some gorgeous visuals. The plot focus did wander at times but still a very enjoyable film.

Disappointing......the only bits I really liked was when she read out some beautiful poetry. Unfortunately I do feel they like to lay things on with a trowel these days; it didn't move me when it should have.

Yo! Jamie The leader of the zed tees from the series Top Boy has time travelled!!! No not really michael ward is in a sweet romance film titled Empire Of Light. It is a 1980's look at people in England and portrays an interesting perspective on mental health. Although it's a slow burn it ramps up right in the middle. View on Hulu.

This is just a beautiful film. The tender score, warm performances, and masterfully crafted cinematography (seriously pause almost any moment of this movie and it could be framed and hung) all point to Sam Mendes being at the top of his field as a director. The plot is quiet and a bit inconsequential but I think that actually helps in this case as Empire of Light ends being more of a showcase for extremely talented people than a story that needs to be told.

We thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Wonderful performances, beautifully filmed and a touching story. This is a movie for grownups. I loved the review of some of the early 80's movies.

A beautiful Sam Mendes film, Olivia Coleman along with her fellow cast members, bring an earthy, charming and endearing story to screen that shines with a light that could only be described as a truly great British flick ❤️✖️
