Evil Dead Rise
audience Reviews
, 76% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLoved this one outa all the others. I like the different angle it comes from. Well written movie in my opinion.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsFun at times. Evil Dead Rise remains true to its genre, but falls short on retaining the attention of its viewers.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis outdid The Exorcist. It is by far the most scary disturbing gory frightening theatrical experience ever created that teeters but veers just short of torture porn. It's heavily demonic but adding just a touch of comic book fantasy that allows the viewer to not take it home with them when they leave the theater. A++++
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsFollowing up the 2013 reboot, Evil Dead Rise brings the adventure out of the woods and into the city. The change of setting creates some interesting new scenarios for our deadites, but not as much as you would hope. Keeping away from the humor of the originals, Rise sticks close to the more horrific and terrifying nature of the reboot series. Foreshadowing is made less of a subtle art and instead plot devices get slapped across your face, advertising their importance and inevitable return. The predictable nature of the film does hinder it from reaching its full fearful potential and it ends up delivering less memorable moments than its predecessor. Though predictable, the visual effects distract you from that as the dead have never looked so good. The deadites are creepier and dirtier than ever, with fresh ideas being brought to these over 40 year old demons. The cast puts fear in your heart as they all do a great job bringing the scares to life and dragging you along on their traumatizing ride. Hopefully leading into more, this installment does a good job of continuing the franchise and, though predictable, can still scare the living daylights out of most horror lovers.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI wish I could rate it lower. This movie had cheap gore shots and scenes that caused me to gag purely because of its disturbing nature. There was an egg scene where there was blood in the eggs and a vomit scene. Not good movie. Would not recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI really liked this movie and all fake blood was most likely used in the elevator scene apart from the kills. This movie when it came out I heard was amazing so I decided to watch it. I would definitely watch a sequel to this movie.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsA great addition to the Evil Dead series. These movies are the best.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsloved the cast and the movie
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI was expecting a scary and a thrilling movie but it was just blood which was just gross and unpleasant. Made me gag, Some parts had poor CGI which really negatively affected the rating of the movie . Disappointed
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis movie should have ever been made. From the beginning, it lacks sense and logic. Scenes has been added without the reasoning. Recording the warning at the end of the recording was a good touch. Priests performing a dark ritual knowing that it can be evil, smart move. Why the first scene without point of references. Why it triggered just out of the blue. There are so many why's but biggest one is why one didn't try to read the script before shooting it. Another why is how come studio agree to invest in it? There are so many shows and movies got cancelled even though they did a good job on box office but studios dump them due to low margin of profit. Many horror movies tend to borrow one particular scene from the exorcist movie and this one is no different.
