Absolutely brilliant and genre defying! A fantastic watch.

Smart, richly layered mystery that unfolds in a really interesting and unique way. The scares aren't always all that effective, but the movie is nonetheless consistently thrilling and a whole lot of fun. As an American, I also really enjoyed how culturally rich the film is. I learned a lot about Korean history and folk beliefs.

I didn't enjoy it. It felt like there was too much story to tell. Would have been better as a TV series. The first 30 minutes were interesting but it got too complicated and silly in my opinion

I like that Korean horror movies do lean on their cultural, religious root for creativity. Makes it different and refreshing compare to repetitive, unoriginal nature of mainstream ghost horror. Performances are great, especially one Kim Go Eun is breathetaking.

A great South Korean horror film, Exhuma is strange & wild, with outstanding acting, some gorgeous cinematography & taut direction.

Definitely a great watch. The story was enticing and the conclusion was satisfying. I just wish they wouldn't shy away from character deaths, it would've made the movie feel much more intense.

    Interesting, but just OK

The Korean film that feels most like a k-drama I've ever seen. And although I like those kind of tv-show dramas, this film fails to excite at any point. It feels like two different films in a row in somehow the same theme, but with no cohesion beyond the four main characters. The beginning is promising and the context created is interesting, but it is very poorly executed: some plots are left aside, the mythology is confusing, it doesn't create any tension, it's not scary at any point and it wants to be taken seriously with a dramatic ending that doesn't move anyone. Frustrating!

gosh; given all of the really great reviews I feel like I need to give this one a rewatch... i really enjoyed the first half, but something shifts in the second half & it kinda lost me. i started multitasking & since I don't speak Korean I missed a lot of the dialog which then made it weird coming back to it towards the end. idk. the end felt silly to me, but maybe if I watch it properly it wouldn't.

I highly recommend this movie if you're into horror/thriller films, especially if you enjoy Korean cinema. I don’t watch many Korean movies, but this was my first real experience with a Korean horror film. While it could have been a bit shorter, it was definitely a joy to watch. I would give it a 10/10 if the second half had managed to keep me as engaged as the first.
