Father Stu in real life was an excellent story. I read about I before I observed the film. The film had several inaccuracies from the actual Father Stu, first and foremost Stu's dad. Stu's dad in real life was a good man. The movie fictitiously villionizes him. Such inaccuracies don't pass muster if you're doing a biopic, in my opinion. Also, we get no timeline. This illness took place over just under 20 years time, but the film makes no mention if that. It's a longish film, but feels rushed in certain areas. The direction is good, but disappointed with the inaccuracies.

Life changing....... God don't want us to be perfect too come to Him, He wants us to come as we are, and He will make the changes in us. When he (Mark) was baptized, he got more than he asked / hoped for....... HE GOT MUCH MORE AND BETTER!!!!

I was expecting a comedy with Wahlberg and Gibson, this movie had me in tears! Enjoyed it so much, but get your tissues out!

A true story which is both heartwarming and humorous with an amazing performance from Mark Wahlberg ably assisted by Mel Gibson, Jacki Weaver and Teresa Ruiz. Wether you have faith or not the performances are top notch and well worth watching.

A remarkably necessary and inspiring story of finding faith whose wide-release status would not be possible without Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson. Refreshingly, there have been only a few critics of this true story and of their aspersions perhaps Bishop Sheen said it best, "There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be."

Absolutely fantastic film! I had not heard this man's story and was surprised to see it was true at the end. What an incredible testimony of faith! Beautifully acted and directed and very well cast. So glad I didn't listen to the critic reviews on here. A must see!

The best movie I have ever seen Mark Wahlberg in. This role really pushed his acting ability. A truly emotional movie, and Mark Wahlberg absolutely nailed it. Wonderful story of resilience, determination and finding inner peace. Mel Gibson, gorgeous, was wonderful.
