Powerful screenplay about a real life problem in our society. The brilliant acting will move you while the plot makes you think. Just very well done.

This was a deep movie. Just one of the thousand of cases that go unfolded. I was pleased to know that the young man had the attorney that did not give up. It took courage for the young man to bring out the painful trauma he had to endure. We do not know how many other's who have held in their painful experiences. The time it took in the meantime for him to await a final winning day was a big part of his inner healing. May God continue to free his aches and pains that still need healing and deliverance to set him completely free. I pray his future was healthy enough for him to speak at facilities, other foster children and wherever he is led to speak. Also, that he was healed enough to find a young lady to add to his healing with love, care, respect and perhaps children in their future. I appreciate all that had a positive drive (especially his lawyer) that fought all the way. And, all involved to bring life to the stage/production bringing life to the real. Tears and uncomfortable pain I endured as I watched, but smiles at the end.

A very underrated film. The acting is brilliant. It's almost too hard and painful to watch. The real villains are the foster care system who ignore abuse just to make a buck. I don't understand why Roger Ebert's company gave it such a bad rating. I grew up with Roger and his great insights into film and human beings. Roger would have loved this film!

Boring and predictable. You may not have watched this movie yet, but you've seen it all before. Most of these 5 star reviews are rating the cause, not the movie. Don't fall for it.

Too many clichés. Just read the patronizing title.....and look at the cover art for goodness sake! One dimensional characters, especially the big evil business, The insensitive rich white lawyer, the young angry black man… Man… Not boy…! It is the year 2021. We should be doing much better. Who's story are we really telling here? Rarely do I not finish a movie but when the protagonist (the real one) ended up in the same cell as his abuser… Too far-fetched, not to mention the lawyer's son being put on a plane by himself and the parents losing track of him. I have worked with young people from foster care for many years and I'll tell you their stories are much more powerful than this presentation. I deeply believe that more of the stories need to be told so… Try again folks!

This movie will make you feel victorious, guilty, shocked, excited, sad, hopeful, happy, nervous and uncomfortable. But I hope mostly it will make you feel like making a difference. There are hundreds of ways to volunteer and contribute to the foster care system. This movie will keep you on your toes, wanting to see what happens. It has amazing acting and is so well directed and produced. Thank you to all those involved in the film, for the powerful message you share. Thank you for working towards making a difference for children that are victims of not only abuse or neglect, but a system that needs fixing. Amazing people are doing all they can do to make the foster care system run as effectively and empathetically as possible, unfortunately there is still much work to do. There is much to be done, and there is hope for great changes.

I thought the movie was great very new in its storytelling of a disease that has racked this country for many decades. I am sure that there are some Foster care providers who just love children but I doubt there are many, as you see in the movie it was all about the money, just as today with everything its all about the money. this truly was a sad movie about how little people care about other people and when its involving a child I just can't see it.

Well acted, well written, and very powerful legal drama. As an attorney who has worked with foster abuse cases, I can appreciate the realistic aspect of the broken foster system. Moving film and truly a must see!!
