Magnificent acting, filming, script. If you're expecting, indeed, like, glib Hollywood nonsense with people, grinning and shouting and flinging their arms about in the usual travesty of acting, then you won't like "Frankie." It's slow, nuanced, uses silence and pauses. Not a car chase or explosion in sight. It's a film for grown ups. Sintra is a great setting. A really quality film. And no cute, easy solutions with happy old people surviving and thriving. Unsentimental.

It was okay, but just okay. The story was a bit depressing and I thought the story was told at too slow of a pace.

Must be most dull movie we seen in years my girlfriend fell asleep, poor construction with bad script really bad sound effect music. The timing of scenes had no rhythm jumping between different stories that had no connection. Only good thing was the Portuguese scenery and locations but they appeared to be more some attempt at verifying the characters ego than showing something really meaningful. How low can you go for something so bad to win best movie award? These awards need to be stopped immediately.

I can only say one word when thinking of this movie. Elegance. The chlothes and scenery and direction are elegant, but more important is how the writer builds the story. Slow but fine. A fine story about things to come and the importance of having supportingg people to face what the future has for us.

I watched this movie alone in my TV room. Sitting at home in the midst of Covid isolation. Very few times would I watch a movie alone and say out loud Wow after the final scene. Isabelle Huppert is always a gift to any film fan. Marisa Tomei is wonderful. And Brendon Gleason is excellent as I would have expected. Their moments with Isabelle are pure movie magic in my opinion. This is a film about loss. And I felt the loss growing with the performances of every one in the movie. It's moving. It's sad. But it's also beautiful. It is filmed in Sintra, Portugal which is one of my favorite places to visit. So perhaps the familiarity of setting made me feel a part of the movie. I'm not sure. But I did say Wow out loud all alone in the TV room with just my dog Delilah sleeping confortable next to me.

Absolutely devastating emotionally and absolutely ravishing visually. The truest and most emotionally resonant sex scene in cinematic history.

Isabelle Huppert is my fav actor. She and the other, very good actors, in this production "Frankie" go no where..Nothing gets resolved. At least, the actors get to take many long walks in the serene woods...Overall, a very, poorly written, production...

Some terrific acting vignettes and a glorious setting but there were too many clunky lines of dialogue.
