Free Puppies! isn't always easy to watch, but the women and the filmmakers are empathetic about some folks' reasons for not spaying/neutering their dogs, which makes it easy for countless unintended extra litters to be born.

I was braced for a miserable time going into this one, but while the movie's implications, both cultural and logistical, are certainly sad, it's not depressing to watch.

While itself often giving the impression of a DIY effort with more heart than finesse, Free Puppies! is worthwhile for anyone who cares about pets...

It will strongly appeal to those who want to educate themselves and work towards making animals’ lives better

"Free Puppies" could have benefited from adopting social media's "The Dodo's" format, and followed 2 or 3 puppies to their forever homes, instead of showing so many stray dogs it comes close to presenting as a vermin infestation. But kudos regardless!

There’s nothing groundbreaking in terms of filmmaking here, nor is the film a deep dive of investigative journalism, but it is a heartfelt work that’s trying to make a difference.

It is on one hand sad as this is a human created problem and on the other hand heartwarming as it shows you that there are people out there who do care about these vulnerable creatures.

Free Puppies! shows the ins and outs of how dog rescuers work while also stressing the importance of spaying and neutering pets.
