This is probably one of the best Halloween movies ever made. I've seen it dozens of times and it gets better every time I watch it. It really permeates the atmosphere with palpable fear, while ensuring that I'll never go to a haunted house again. The acting is phenomenal and the special effects are so realistic, that you actually start to believe that it's real. I highly recommend watching this!

This is a truly hardcore horror fans movie. The gore is amazing an all the characters are perfectly cast. This movie is slept on while other gore movies get insane hype.

I don't know how there's so much praise, it's solid throughout the initial haunted house bit but It falls so hard toward the climax. Feels like out female lead had a traumatic backstory for no reason as that whole plotline went no where. And I can't hate the scene where Nathan just decides to get shot for free enough.(That scene is so easily fixed) The movie had a great premise and set, but just feels soo poorly directed/managed it becomes unwatchable, so much wasted potential. -Rayne Haunt - It's crazy enough to have antagonists just seemingly lose brain cells for the sake of the Protags to win their struggles, but it feels like there's directors making 2 different movies in one and didn't bother making the backstory of the MC (that is thoroughly highlighted to be of importance) be even relevant towards the entire purpose of what the film wanted to do and say. The Premise had potential, but the direction took it apart and made me as lost as the characters in the house itself. Waste of time. -Naps

A very nervy watch! Keeps twisting the knife and ramping up the tension right through til finish!

A cut above most "psychos killing teenagers" movies. I can recommend it if you like the genre.

This reminded me a lot of Dark Ride (2006) in many ways. It is bad, silly, pointless, boring, badly acted, badly directed, lacking anything memorable, entertaining or engaging. It is the definition of ‘nothing'. In fact, the only way to describe this film is ‘nothing'. It's a nothing film through-and-through. It lacks anything engaging at all. It is totally forgettable. There is no point watching this. I'm giving it an extra star as there is a film and it's not badly made. It's just absolutely nothing.

Just awful. Gave up after 40 minutes. So bad I signed up to rotten tomatoes just to rate this movie and save people from wasting their time.

It's quite easy to say that this film isn't anything special, it doesn't stand out in the horror genre and, quite frankly, nor should it. 'Haunt', without a doubt, is sloppily written and proved to be quite the disappointment; for a film with such a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I think it's fair to say that I, and many other horror fans, expected more than we received. Whether or not this film was intended to follow a 'cheesy horror' trope, the endless dropping of potential defensive weapons and then running away even though the antagonist is clearly still alive and will return, not even a mere, two scenes later is tiring and, more importantly, infuriating. I found that the antagonists were wasted within the rest of this film, they were most unequivocally unique and, for such sinister and menacing characters, deserved more. They had the potential to be used in much more frightening way and I believe that I will forever be disheartened that they were astoundingly misused.
