Henchmen

[I]t's not just superhero fatigue that makes this feature feel generic and cheap - lively enough to keep young kids occupied, but preferably while parents are doing something more interesting in the next room.

It is hard not to like a film that takes the mickey out of superhero movies.

Henchmen is a perfectly average animated film that isn't able to stand out in an overcrowded market.

Not so much bad as it is generic, the movie does boast an outstanding voice cast. There are definitely laughs to be had, but the interesting premise is largely ignored.

Animated supervillain tale has lots of violence, potty humor

Henchman fails to take advantage of its unique premise and doesn't feature the same quality visuals as other animated offerings, but an A-List voice cast and entertaining gags mean kids won't struggle to get invested in this quirky, colourful world.

There's an interesting story to be told about the men and women working behind the scenes in the superhero genre, but this isn't that film.

It's not as clever as it thinks it is and the gags don't land. Instead of tickling my funny bone Henchmen grated on my patience.
