I must admit I'm a bit biased as my son Alex Mansour wrote the music for the film. As the proud parent of two Notre Dame students I was pleasantly surprised how much territory this movie covered. It wasn't just a profile about a great priest and leader, but an amazing journey through American civil rights history. Father Hesburgh was indeed a Forrest Gump like character, traveling through time and quietly exerting his influence on the civil rights movement in this country. A very entertaining film by Patrick Creadon that takes its viewer on a ride they probably aren't expecting.

An inspiring documentary about a man who we should try to be. I might be biased being from Notre Dame, but it was amazing learning about all the ways Father Hesburgh impacted not only the University, but also the nation. I love the continued theme of Hesburgh wanting to listen to all the sides of a conversation, even if he disagreed. Father Hesburgh's work in the Civil Rights movement is inspiring, helping start what later became the equal rights act. I was also surprised by the insurmountable connections the man had, who knows how he made time for anyone in the schedule of his. The music was great, fitting with the times and not overtaking.

Extremely well-crafted, informative, poignant and complete doc. You do not have to be a ND person to appreciate the man and film.

This movie is so brilliant. I wish it was showing in the black community because it’s a wonderful history lesson on the civil rights movement. The producers should consider expanding its distribution.

Fabulous movie about an icon. They should, however, have include dissenters and critics of his liberal choices for balance (e.g., the alternative graduation held at ND because of the Obama invite). Love the movie though.
