Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1

A very self indulgent movie by Kevin Costner. His long held ethos of wanting to tell the truth of ‘How the West as won’ was totally spoiled by the disjointed storyline’s. Extremely disappointing on all levels

Very difficult to follow any story line. Jumping all over the place with timeline. Couldn’t keep up with the story. Confusing.

I have to say, I did watch this in Theaters but now I wish I would have. I started watching it on a 2 hour flight I had and then finished it in my hotel room. Overall I feel like the story line is developing and captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope others give it chance. 3 hours is a long time but I’m glad it was was. Looking forward the Chapter 2

Slow, characters never developed

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but movie studios pay companies to post positive reviews of movies, especially on RT. There is zero % chance that this is legitimately 70% liked by audiences. When I saw it in a theater in Las Vegas, people were walking out of the theater near the end of the 2nd hour. After the first 30 minutes the movie is extremely slow and there is zero emotional connection with any of the characters. I didn't care if any of the characters died. In fact, by the end, I wanted the natives to kill all the settlers again just to end it. Had this been a streaming series I probably would have lasted to about episode 4 before deciding it was garbage. $100 million worth of it.

The film was entertaining. The movie moved forward across all the character storylines. I was able to follow all these stories as they were being told. I do not agree that it was as disjointed as critica made it seem. I am looking forward to the next chapter.

Amazing sceneries, good acting, yes it's violent as the reality were in those times. Good movie, can't wait to watch the next one

This was a masterpiece.. Kevin Costner is amazing! Love how the different story lines paralleled. Hoping for more. Assuming we will get a chapter 2.

incredible But..... I personally felt that the three hour picture could have been condensed into two. I also didn't care for most of the stories Kevin Costner wasn't in. My favourite film 2024 so far, but at parts a bit to mundane for a western!

I enjoyed part 1 very much, and I eagerly await the rest of the series. I loved the sweep of the story and the various interlocking parts. Kudos to Costner.
