Incredible piece of work with iconic characters. Like a rock album flowing with emotions it takes you through a whole journey, from the enthusiastic singing along to the melancholy of the last song of a concert. A must see!

And let us not forget the animation, or lack thereof! It is a true marvel to witness characters with faces frozen in perpetual dismay, their movements as stiff as a board. Every frame feels like a painstaking exercise in disappointment, a reminder of the precious seconds of life wasted on this abomination of entertainment. But fear not, dear viewer, for this anime shall forever serve as a benchmark for all that is dreadful and unsatisfying in the realm of animated storytelling. Let its inadequacy be a reminder of the heights that can be achieved when creativity, talent, and originality are forsaken in favor of a quick cash grab. A beautifully animated fantasy musical that will delight the senses.

Lovely movie. Enjoyed the music, love the period detail. My daughter and I saw Heike Story, which tells the events that are important to this story. It makes the whole experience even richer. I read a Yaoi subtext here. I enjoy the level it's portrayed, hinted at but not explicit. I don't mind if it's subtext, and I don't mind if it's front and center, I just love the way it's portrayed here, like a tease.

Spectacular visuals , choreography, animation , story and the bond between two souls. A breath of fresh air in the anime

The greatest animation film I have ever seen in my life. I went to cinema 3 times to watch this film. I strongly recommend this film if you like to listening 80 to 90 rock music especially Queen, Deep Purple and so on. Art style of this film is unusual but it's so beautiful and realistic. This film's　６０％ are music scenes. While watching this film, I felt like I am in a summer music festival. Main character "Inu-Oh" is voiced by Avu-chan from a Japanese band "Queen Bee". The scene I like most is all curses are lifed from Inu-Oh. That scene's song and lines are so cool and it really encourages me. This film is not for everyone, but if you like rock music, you definitely can enjoy watching it. It is a sappy (sad and happy) story, you can decide happy ending or bad ending. It's up to you.

This was some interesting strong alternative story telling with a funny taste of religion and meditation. And may have been too intense for several people, I enjoyed every moment of it.

I take delight for Masaaki Yuasa's work and this movie is no different. The story was beautiful and creative from beginning to end. I appreciated the visuals, the music blended with them so elegantly, the voice actors were excellent and the conclusion for it all unfolded with wonderful highs and lows that I desired to see more of. If you like animated features that have great storytelling, this is one to see.
