Really loved this movie! It was something new and fresh. I'm a big fan of Hindi horror now. I was not a fan of the ending though. This movie would have been labeled as amazing, and must see if it weren't for that ending. They really extended it too far.

Just another monster movie, without showing the monster.

The film was OK but I was disappointed when the family spoke indu there was no subtitles so I couldn't understand what they were saying.

The subtitles were too small. Terrible acting and the story was not interesting.

My mother and I had seen this as part of attending Regal Cinemas Monday Mystery Movie and I can honestly say we were both pleasantly surprised. If I had to describe this movie in a single word based on our experience I would have to say it was refreshing. It felt free of very many of the trappings that are seemingly very common of a lot of horror movies as of late. Very few jump scares, not really a whole lot of what I would call "corny" dialogue, realistic/believable/relatable/mostly non-infuriatingly-stupid characters, and a very real sense of dramatic tension. I found myself concerned for the wellbeing of the main character and her friend, and was consistently intrigued by the story's mystery elements as well as with its subtext of accepting who you are and where you come from. It was also interesting to have a horror movie with a monster pulled from Hindu mythology as opposed to Christian/Jewish mythology like a lot of supernatural horror movies. Said monster, by the way, was designed very creatively, and due to what seemed like a very competent mixture of practical and special effects/CGI seemed to garner a very real and solid sense of presence. Overall, a very poignant debut for a budding new director. Thumbs up.

Fantsic mix of horror and culture, would make a great clean horror for the preteen or beginning horror watcher.
