Genuinely frightening, believable in its descent into a hopeless situation, and a stellar and memorable performance from the ever-reliable Fiona Shaw!

Anyone who has been in a psychologically abusive relationship, especially where the family of the significant other are not only well off, but brilliant at gas-lighting will definitely empathize with Charlotte! I personally know how hard it is to maintain sanity when you're constantly being told you're the crazy one! This movie can be very, very triggering! That said, it is really good... really frustrating, but definitely worth watching!

    Meh, gaslighting and paranoia overdone.

This movie has more plot holes than a block of Swiss cheese. It gives an uneasy vibe which was interesting but never seems to explain things well. I feel more frustrated after watching.

I absolutely loved this, binged watched and was so sad when it was over. I'm shocked at that more people haven't see this, or rated it as good. It's so good and every episode left me with wanting for more. I really hope they do a second season!!!

I loved the book. I just don't understand why they need all of the cursing. Younger audience would have benefited from Octavia Butler's story.

I'm still waiting for the show to "get going" so to speak. Come on, who's going to take that much bs coming from 2016?!!? Unrealistic. I'd show up with an ak-47 and tell "Uncle Tom" were about to flip the script buddy!!! They never show up with any supplies or weapons to protect themselves. Come on!!!!

After watching four episodes I find some of the acting is just not convincing enough, I feel like there are moments as if they are reading a teleprompter. And the writing is very spotty and not convincing enough where if find myself rolling my eyes and saying... oh right. I should be feeling empathy with these characters, there are hopeful spots, but for me it is very much lacking. I love the concept, however unfortunately it is out of tune and loses it melody quite quickly.
